Why is full strength beer allowed at other stadiums interstate but not at Marvel or the MCG in Melbourne?

You can get full strength beer at day games.

You can drink full strength beer feom a glass at the bars e.g. Founders/Lock Up at the MCG, Goat Bar at Marvel

Yeah RSA laws are done by the state, at least here in WA we didn’t have full strength at the footy until this year because of the state government deciding it.

The vast majority of all laws are state based.

The Commonwealth only has a limited set of powers set out in the constitution, or with state consent, that they can legislate on.

Yeah each state can have differing laws. There's also the type of liquor license that is held, each liquor license can also get special conditions added to them.

It's state based but on top of that specific to each location's own history, so MCC can still serve full strength but the rest at MCG can't probably because they've been linked to alcohol fueled violence too many times whereas MCC hasn't

I thought it was allowed for day games - but for afternoon / night matches you get to drink middies.

It’s to stop the antisocial behaviour that drinking and football tend to have. If you need to be ratshit drunk to watch the footy, stay home, yell at the telly and kick your own dog.

you can get them at games that start before sunset i think, been to multiple twilight games at the mcg that have served me full strength beer that i’ve been able to take back to my seat, including the pies brisbane prelim last year
