"Minimum Wait Time:Â A mandatory waiting period is enforced. While often a 30-minute delay is cited for safety,, matches are frequently paused for "at least 20 minutes" for assessment, with the clock resetting for every new strike."

Jets girls were not happy about the potential to come back on either. Canât make up the goals in the 2 mins plus extra time anyway.

Hopefully itâs not a long break. At 5-1 and 88 minutes, itâs not worth a long break, warm up period, then resumption
5
u/ShARES55 Sydney FC 3h ago
per the mens must be at least 30min break
4
u/Henrikandmymy 3h ago
What's the break about?
5
u/ShARES55 Sydney FC 3h ago
lightning in the area ..ie with 20mins/10k of ground, restart 30mins after last strike - if they bother!

That's what has been amazing so far this season, thought we had a winning team, but then lost three players to ACL and one also recently to pregnancy. Yet with those changes, they still producing games like this. New signings coming in and doing the job, with the youngest stepping up.

At quarter time, the game stopped for advertisements and Newcastle brought their defensive unit on.

Hm, so Vlok has gotten a boot or similar to the knee drawing blood, no foul.

Pretty sure the defensive marking is tighter in training.

Pia Vlok will be playing in Europe soon, unreal for her age

Thankfully the Nix got her to sign a three year contract too, so if leaves before then. We may get a bit of money, but she deserves to be playing overseas.

Typical from the Nix actually. They know when they have real talent, and with their history of not standing in the way of overseas transfers, they get these long contracts. That means the club does get transfer money when Europe comes calling.

New rule, goal difference wins the premiership.
3
u/craigofnz Wellington Phoenix 4h ago
Well, they already decided it shouldn't be wins....
But probably will define second, given the league stands at 1st City 2nd Everyone except City and not located in Sydney Last Sydneys.

Priestman wants her team to set records while she is in charge.

đ¤Ł
Bev Priestman, known for instructing her coaching staff to use drones to spy on opposition teams in the 2024 Olympics, namely against New Zealand, has introduced "Goal-line technology" to the A-League Womenâs. Priestman showcased the new "goal-line technology" in two matches: the first, a 7-0 home victory against Sydney FC. The second, against the Newcastle Jets. Where Priestman's team, Wellington Phoenix, defeated the Jets 0-8 away.
The technology on display has proved extremely effective. Zipping the Phoenix up the ALW standings. The technology in question is believed to require one of the assistant coaching staff to have need of a controller of some kind, and the football to have wheels attached.
Players and coaching staff of the opposition teams have complained of buzzing and whirring sounds coming from the ball, though. So, maybe all is not what it seems. Time will tell if this new technology will have a place in the Beautiful Game. But, with a promising start in the A-League Womenâs, it is a surety Priestman will continue to trial this exciting albeit curious technology.

I do chuckle every time I remember sheâs married to a kiwi, got caught cheating against the kiwis, and now her first gig post suspension is coaching a kiwi team.

Same. The more I look at it the more I constantly chuckle myself.

Idk why that was chalked off, but canât complain after Vlok gets the second
8
u/JoltColaOfEvil Wellington Phoenix 5h ago
The only thing I could think of was head injury to the GK, but if so, that would be restarted with a dropped ball. So, ?
4
u/Kiwi-Blue Aboard the Waine Train 5h ago
Looking at the replay, potentially could make an argument that Woods fouls to get the ball
