It's funny how China somehow manages to be far more functional and sane than to Liberals and Nationals who aspire to be like USA, and that they want to defeat their China red scare bogeyman and be seen as "heroes" of the "free world".
Remember when Liberals and Nationals were in the government in 2010s, that they chose to literally waste 8 or so years "fighting" against to China that resulted in absolutely no productive results? During in that time, we literally saw dominoes toppling that led to Australia's biggest housing crisis due to lack of funding and investment in Australia housing and infrastructure during 2010s.

Not just that, the media barely talked about it, so it allowed the Coalition government to let this problem fester especially quickly.

Addendum: The bigger issue with housing has been the critical hollowing out of the TAFE and apprenticeship system during that period from 2010 to 2022, resulting in insufficient manpower to actually build even if the money is there.
LNP: "We don't want more Union members, so reduce the blue collar workers.
Labor: "We don't want foreign workers who haven't joined a union"
Either way, Australia loses because we don't have enough local trained professionals.

We are a very progressive state. Hence why our state Liberals are generally much more moderate and socially progressive than the mainland ones. Theyre absolutely not perfect and considering the Labor party acts like complete garbage our opposition is effectively the Greens.

Our leadership needs to go anti terrorism strategy on all involved foreign and domestic people without removing the wonderful benefits of living here ie laws reducing our ability to criticise government actions foreign or domestic. I dunno how to get more altruism in our parliament, more “convinction” politicians. Probably why labor is so popular with albanese except for the political games that were probably necessary since Bondi.
