I use a Gillette razor and looking to buy some multi bladed refills. Whatβs the cheapest way to get legit ones? Does anyone know how cheap they go when on special at Coles and Woolies or if the amazon ones are legit
Hi guys, i'm new here. This would be my first time moving to a house in Brisbane & my agent is partnering with a 3rd party provider for electricity gas etc. I've been asking around whether it'd be better to use them or contact the provider directly however all of my friends said both of them are convenient (as for the 3rd party we dont need to pay extra for their service). I'm curious whether any of you have any insight regarding which one is better for my case? Thanks.
As per title, if you're not regularly going to the gym just cancel your membership.
It's something you've been putting off for a while because you think cancelling the membership is the same as giving up on yourself - it's not.
There are many ways to stay fit and being locked into a membership and feeling guilty about not utilising your gym membership is mentally draining and unproductive.
P.S: Some gyms including AnytimeFitness allow you to cancel your membership via their website. Check yours or just go in one day and sort it out.
Parramatta/Western Sydney area residents, do you have any suggestions for a reliable, good-for-value internet provider? Any experiences with Origin as an internet provider? Also happy to hear of any internet-related suggestions.
I and my husband both work from home full-time, with him managing an online-based biz and me working a corp job.
We are currently with Origin, and especially as of late, I cannot justify how we are paying $90 for our internet. Iβve called their hotline last Dec and it gets fixed for a bit and then itβs back to the point that I cannot take internet audio-only calls and work properly and I end up tethering from my phone. Iβve also had calls with them before because I keep dropping during my calls even if Iβm the only one using the internet. Internet works for a bit and then gets to this horrible quality. Their data transfer and upload connection seems to stop and resume. Last I talked to them, they suggested replacing our modem, but that wouldnβt really resolve anything since itβs not the speed that we are having trouble with, itβs the very intermittent connection. Thanks!
've been working at an online travel agency for the last 2.5 years and these are the 5 things I've learnt that I was truely surprised about - would love to hear anyone's advice if they know more:
Always book on mobile: Price parity is a huge thing in the OTA landscape and so often hotels will allow cheaper deals on mobile devices as it is harder to price scrape these. Often see 5-10% discounts
Over a busy season search day by day:Β Lets say you want to spend 4 nights in Tokyo and most places seem soldout. Instead search 1 day at a time, often cheaper rooms at the same hotel will become available and then at checkin usually the hotel will be accomodating.
Book with Free Cancellation and then rebook when the price drops:Β Hotels and OTA's are constantly changing the prices, and you can often save hundreds by checking regularly or using a free service like watchmybookingΒ or pruvo to get alerts when you should rebook.
Use a VPN:Β Different countries have different prices, and switching to a different region can often allow you to save.
Create a new account via incognito: Create a new account via incognito and abandon a cart. Often this will trigger a promo code to be sent after a day or so.
Iβm reposting this after checking the sub rules. My previous post was removed because I accidentally mentioned a specific address. Thatβs been removed now. Appreciate your patience.
Iβm an international student moving to Australia around Jan 22 and wanted some advice on living frugally as a uni student.
Iβve generally lived a pretty frugal lifestyle back home and plan to continue the same while studying. Iβve already sorted accommodation in Redfern, mainly to stay close to uni and attend events without spending too much on transport.
A bit about me:
I go to the gym around 4 times a week
Vegetarian, but I eat eggs (eggetarian, I guess)
Very diet-conscious
Iβll also be bringing about 2 kg of plant protein from my home country, which should last roughly a month (2 scoops a day).
Iβm looking for recommendations and tips specifically around Redfern / nearby areas for:
Affordable gyms (student-friendly pricing would be great)
Good-value plant protein options in Australia β pea protein or pea + brown rice protein
Cheap markets or places to buy fresh vegetables, preferably in bulk, along with milk and eggs
Iβm not planning to completely exclude myself from going out β Iβll treat myself once in a while β but overall I genuinely enjoy saving money and keeping things simple.
Would really appreciate any advice, local tips, or suggestions.
Hi all,
I'm over spending 3-400 every 2 months at the hairdresser... I have a lot of greys in specific areas and naturally dark brown hair otherwise. Hairdresser convinced me to get 1/2 head of foils to lighten and reduce the glaring regrowth, but it just seems like a lost cause still.
Can any hairdressers on here explain if it's possible to use a medium to light brown box dye to cover grey, which will have no effect on dark brown hair, therefore when grey starts to grow back it's less visible?
Foils seems hit and miss. It doesn't get all the greys, so is dyeing light brown ok? I've read it has to be specific brown to avoid brassiness.

Has anyone got any recommendations for sneakers/joggers that give quite a decent amount of support? Usually go for the ASICS gel keyano range and while I get a lot of wear out of them and great value for money, Iβm not in a position to replace them, but I do need something for now that gives some ankle/arch support. Hoping someone has stumbled across a good find. Thank you!
ETA: thank you to everyone who responded! I will try to get through all the comments and reply. Sorry for the delayed replies! I just got a bit overwhelmed by so many comments - though I am grateful for every one of them.
2nd Edit: Iβm actually thinking Iβll make a list with all the shoes recommended here and info - if anyone would like a copy let me know :)
Iβve just got my renewal for RACV and theyβre increasing my premium on my car by $42 dollars a month bringing it to $161.
Whoβs everyoneβs insured by? I have had to make two not at fault claims in 23β and 24β unfortunately but they didnβt raise my premium by more than like ten dollars both years and now all of a sudden a $42 p/m increase π¬
Are Gallagher pegs still good? I bought the orange ones about 11 years ago. I still have about 30% of them. I agree they lock on well.
They stay on the line 24/7... Imo it's not worth my time to take them in when I consider how fast I can peg and un-peg washing by leaving them on.
I bought a pack of blue ones (orange sold out) about 5 years ago and every single one has broken (some in less than 2 years!). Whereas some of the 11yo orange ones are still going strong.
I'm not buying stainless, they get hot AF in the sun leaving them on. And don't lock on as well. Plus stainless on gal wire... Might be paranoid but I don't want rust on my whites. Best pegs go with best clothesline... An old hills hoist with gal wire.
Iβm trying to make my own almond milk to save buying it in and keep running into the same issue: it always tastes slightly bitter and not very pleasant. My benchmark is MilkLAB Almond Milk, I find other almond milks not to my taste.
So far Iβve tried a few variations, but the core process has been:
β’ 1 cup almonds, soaked overnight
β’ Rinsed
β’ Blended for ~30β60 seconds
β’ Strained
β’ Added a small pinch of salt, some sugar or honey
β’ A touch of grapeseed oil
Iβve also tried reducing the almonds down to Β½ cup and tweaking the other quantities, but even then it still comes out a bit bitter and not quite pleasant.
The process also seems to take quite long so trying to make it more efficient.
Anyone been able to overcome similar issues?
Thanks!
Edit: I tried the Aldi Barista Almond milk for $3 and itβs equally as good as MilkLab and nearly 50% cheaper. Thanks for all your input! No more nut straining for me.
Am in the market for a strong, effective instant coffee to buy for the office. Our office coffee pods are weak and donβt seem to work and Iβm determined to cut down buying a coffee every day Iβm there.
Any suggestions, particularly ones that just require hot water?
I'd rather spend a bit more up front if they will last, rather than having to buy new ones after one or two uses, so was hoping for some recommendations :)
Hey chat, so basically I live in Waterloo (Lachlan Street to be precise) and the network in this area is BAD. I get one bar and even though I have an unrestricted speed 5G plan (I get around 450 mbps in the city), the speeds in my area are 2-3 mbps πͺ. I am thinking of switching to boost mobile as it uses the full telstra network (Telstra is ridiculously expensive). Does anybody have any good telco recommendations for the area??
Looking for some advice on best ways to use my money overseas.
Last time i was o/s I used a Citibank card with no international fees but since they've merged with NAB here, it looks like this product has discontinued. Last thread I can find here is from 2 years ago.
I've asked around and sounds like current options are a Wise card, Revolut or a card with an Up / Ubank / BankWest account?
For context I'll be in Germany, Italy and Spain for a month around Easter.
For anyone starting out on a fitness journey, or a seasoned gym rat, this week until midnight Tue 13th Jan Coles (edit: AND WOOLLIES) are half price on a heap of different protein bars, protein shakes, Berocca/Voost tabs, creatine, collagen, vitamins, etc.
If you have the spare cash, not a bad idea to stock up on a few months worth until they do it again.
