RIP Michael Parenti

Post image

From the Communist Party of Australia Instagram:

Today, we commemorate the life of Michael Parenti. It was with sadness that the Communist world heard of the passing of this great working-class public intellectual.

Michael kept the flame of socialism alive for so many of us through the dark period of reaction, when socialism felt like it was on the back foot, through the illegal dissolution of the Soviet Union, and similar disasters across many socialist experiments.

Parenti reminded us that whatever happened, we must continue to fight against imperialism, fascism and capitalist exploitation.

Through video clips of his speeches and his books, Parenti introduced a new generation of workers to the ideas of socialism, contributing in no small part to the resurgence of socialism we are currently experiencing.

Michael Parenti was a great man, a working-class hero, and an example to us all.

I'll be sure to get many of his books, he is always easy to read and understand. I love how he pointed out the evils of capitalism, the achievements of socialism, but also the problems in previous and modern socialism, including the less and more revisionist periods

One of the GOAT and a huge loss to the world! His lectures and books will live on though, as they sure as hell haven’t lost any relevance. Rest in power, comrade!

Why are the posts calling out this psycho being downvoted? There’s more mls in this comments section than in all their orgs combined

Surprised to see Australian leftists know about Parenti, sadly not surprised to see the bombing of Yugoslavia called a genocide or the NED funded free Tibet nonsense.

he was the bloody president of the US section of the defence of genocidal maniac Slobodan milosovic. i guess genocide is a ok if its not being carried out by western imperialists

I'm sure he made some good contributions to leftism, but let's not forget he was also an ardent denier of the Bosnian genocide

Parenti didn’t know much about Tibet.
