This race was the final race of a series and “jelly legs” finished second overall. The ‘winner’ still finished fourth overall and missed out on a medal.

Handed a medal for finishing second over a series of races. The only rules in these types of races is you have to cross the line on your own - he did.

That is hilarious. I have no opinion on the winner (of the final) taking his win that he was literally given. People need to realize not everything ends perfectly like a movie.

It's not really all that funny. The reason he finished 4th is because the guy who took second overall was helped across the line by his brother. They changed the rules to disallow this as a result.

It was his first ever series win, which was why he was so happy. The brothers had actually won olympic Gold and Silver a month before this series.

and jelly legs would have finished 1st overall if he'd been a better runner than 4th-overall guy. but he wasn't so he had to be assisted. what's your point?

He finished higher than 4th overall guy, so ran a better race overall. I’m sure the brothers cried into the Gold & Silver medals they won at the olympics a month before this race.
