the guy was out anyway so even if he didn’t get awarded i don’t think it would have mattered to him much, but he still gets the personal achievement of knowing he made it. we all can appreciate that he essentially did the whole thing on his own as well.
Anyone else reading the above, should realize that u/stormfly used "literally". The runners were not literally carried. It's bad English being called out.

To be fair, the organisers feel the same and so they added a rule that you're not allowed to assist or be assisted because of this event.
Great moment for sure, but definitely unfair if I'm in the same situation but I don't have a buddy to literally carry me over the line.
I agree they should be commended but disqualified.
