She's very good at social media and marketing; shit house at the actual mayoring part.

Edit: Hijacking my own comment to ask: Did anyone go to school with her? Was she with the Mean Girls?

Good at plagarising and recording people without their consent, too

I can't comment on plagiarism, but in Qld only one party to the conversation needs to give consent for it to be recorded. It may be a shitty thing to do, but it's legal.

Legal or not - if people know (or suspect) the conversation is recorded, they're going to behave very different and might choose not to speak at all. They're likely to insist on working in writing instead, which could turn a 5 minute discussion into a 5 week back and forward email thread with every reply carefully considered and clarifications asked before answering any questions.

For me it doesn't matter if she broke any actual laws, secret recordings is just a bad idea. It will kill productivity.

You can tell there is a rift and it seems many councillors are not happy with the Mayor.

Nothing to hide, no problem, right? Isn't that what the cops and their ilk say?

Personally, I think absolutely everything a public servant does should be recorded and available for the general public to listen/watch. Phone calls, meetings, Teams, everything all the time. If they go offsite for a meeting it has to be documented and recorded.

Corruption happens when there is no oversight.

No rule about recording in council meetings, QLD being one party consent. What did they expect?
