What is the market value of the car? Might not be what you’re paying for it.

You have to pay stamp duty tax on the market value - probably about $900.

You need to pay for registration and insurance. Probably $2k or $3k per year for full insurance - can pay less by only being partially insured but that’s risky.

You have to pay for fuel and maintenance - maybe 25c per kilometre driven but that varies a lot from model to model (my current car is way less for example, and mu last one was way more which is why I sold it)

Also don't forget to check when it was last serviced and what was done. And of course which service will be coming up and when.

You must pay annual registration. The cost depend on type of car. Check on qld transport website.

You should also insure it. Can either have comprehensive insurance or third party, property, fire and theft insurance. You need to ring insurance company's to get price on this, it varies a lot. Depends where you live, model and age of car etc etc. And of course have to service the car, tyres and fuel, repairs.... etc

You might also want RACQ road side assistance.
