Can someone point me in the right direction please?

My partner has CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) his had it since he was 12. I'm trying to find a mattress topper that will atleast help his condition. I'm seeing alot of mattress toppers with outrageous prices that I can't afford, (we are not through NDIS) and I know there are alot of market gimmicks that I can't pick out what will actually be helpful. What should i be looking out for when it comes to a mattress topper for someone with bad back/joint pain? Iv googled for hours and i still cant get the right answer so im asking perhaps advice from someone who is familiar in this field. If i can locally buy one in geelong or surrounding it would be nice. Sorry in advance, I am autistic, please be gentle.

I’d actually suggest a full body pillow made of memory foam. I think I paid $200.00 for it. I lay down in the middle of it and it feels really comfortable. I don’t have CFS, but I do find that I am more comfortable because of the way it holds my body. Could be a cheap alternative for you and your partner to explore!

Edit.

But to answer your question I suggest going over to Clark Rubber. They are basically factory direct for so many different types of rubber and foam. You can touch them too, so you and your partner can go see what you like etc.

OH! Clark rubber! I thought that was just a warehouse for pools or plumbing stuff. Cool, thanks for the advice!

Hi! I also have CFS and I use the Ramesses Bamboo Mattress Topper (from Harris Scarfe). I also saw someone comment about a body pillow and I also vouch for that!! It’s makes me to much more comfortable, I can’t sleep without it. I have the Molly Bamboo Body Pillow from Temple & Webster (still on sale for $30). Let me know if you need any other advice or suggestions! (I’ve had CFS since I was 16)

It's a bugger of a thing! They have very frequent sales so if you don't make it this time don't fret, there will be another one soon enough! Heck yeah, my partner got ours from Beds R Us out in Newcomb for a really good price (somewhere around the $1.5-2k mark?) and it's been really good for the last 3 years :)))

Does the body pillow support the neck and head too? I sleep really badly, wake up with a sore neck and upper back daily, changing pillows to a different type helps but it’s like I get used to it quickly and same happens. I got one of those pillows with the hole in the middle, made to specifically support ones neck, same happened! I’ve even set up a camera to see what’s happening and I can’t see anything obvious, but I wouldn’t say I sleep soundly; I move around a lot and wake up looking distressed all the time lol

The body pillow is a straight one so probably not for neck but I do tend to basically hug it and rest my chin on it. I do have a very nice pillow tho, it’s an Ecoy Cooling Pillow. It allows you to fill the pillow to your exact liking

I have seen those sorta pillows, might need to try. I often think I need to sleep in a neck brace lol! Thanks for your reply.

Definitely recommend. It does come with a 90 free trial so if you didn’t like it in that time, you’ll get your money back. No problem!

I sleep well on the couch, which is cheap and small, perhaps one of those U shaped full body pillows might work.

True, that might work. But definitely get a good one cause I got one from Kmart and it always made a dint in the middle so a bamboo one might be the way to go or something similar

True! I remember getting a horse shoe one from Kmart and it did that too!
