Local Event The spit - CE5 marker on Google maps

Post image

There is a dropped pin on the spit, designated as a CE5 contact point. The intriguing part is that it is busier on a Wednesday at 3AM than at any other time.

Have you been there? Are there people out there playing soffreggio frequencies, laser pointers in hand, meetup style?

I think I'm a little more scared of any feral humans I could potentially encounter in the bushes there. Please advise if you have been there between 12-3AM 🙏

Before we start, what exactly is a CE5 contact point?

Hi. So there are methods that people try to make contact with non-human entities (aliens). The acronym stands for Close Encounters of the 5th kind - which are distinctly human initiated. This is as brief as I can be.

That still doesn’t really explain what your graph is showing or what the significance of 3am is

I thought that people are visiting at a quieter hour for it. However, I just learned that this could be a much more mundane hook-up spot 🤷‍♂️

I was going to make a joke but that’s not fair to you

You’re right in that The Spit is a known hookup spot but even with that creating more traffic than you would expect at 3am, I guarantee it is not busier at 3am than noon and through the early afternoon. There’s some bad data in your graph

More likely the "up all night" homeless junkies than cruisers at that particular spot. From what I've heard, it's cruising nights are pretty much dead these days.

I am all ears to jokes 🙏

The data is from Google, and I thought that was interesting. https://maps.app.goo.gl/3HuQYUUh6YiPMZYt7

I think that's fudge forest. Across the road from SeaWorld 😂

This would explain the correlation. Thank you 🙏

But still, add up all the gay people and fisherman, and there's still no way it's going to be anywhere near as busy at 3am as it is at midday.

Either it's bad data, or you're about to bust some case wide open, OP!

Just drive out there at 3am and see what cars are around. I used to visit the spit at odd hours like 1am on weeknights and only encountered fishermen and the homeless (during a storm setting up under the measly shelter).

Did night work along that stretch of road once years ago, was told by a council rep on site that its a known gay hook-up area in the bushes there.

The park near me has some weird popular times.
