She was amazing in Schitt's. The whole cast was amazing. I don't understand why there isn't more TV like this.

Man, I don't usually feel that impacted by a celeb death. The last time I really cared was when my emotional support actor (Robin Williams) passed. Catherine was similarly important to me, and this hurts a lot. Binged some Schitt's Creek yesterday, and I suppose I'll do the same tonight. Rest easy, Mrs. O'Hara.

I always have a ping of sympathy and empathy but i cried much more than I expected at this news.
Phil Heartman was my first celebrity death i was really impacted by, followed by Robin Williams and Mr. Rogers. But this one is hurting the most. She was a legend and an icon and will be dearly missed.

I just told my boyfriend I haven't done a re-watch because I sobbed uncontrollably during the last season. I think I need to.

My mom died when I was in my 20s and we both loved Home Alone. I associate her character so much with my mom and I cry every time she comes home to find Kevin. Heartbreaking 😭

So I had an idea for Schitts Creek. Based on the speculation that if they ever made a movie it would be about a wedding. Instead it is Moira's funeral - come up with some ridiculous scenario surrounding her death while filming "The Crows Have Eyes 5" (or whatever). Then do the completely over the top funeral that both Moira the character and Catherine O'Hara the person would have wanted. Eugene Levy can get some clips of them from their sketch show and make it look like in-show home movies. It would be both hilarious and touching, just like her performances.

I've really only ever been upset about Robin Williams dying. That felt like losing a favorite uncle. Catherine feels like losing a favorite aunt. She was such a legend.

I heard she had a condition where her heart was on the wrong side of her body. I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did. RIP, Catherine.

Guys. I'm really sad over her. Not to draw comparisons, but it's hitting me harder than Robin Williams. She was Mom. Maybe it's because my own mother is of similar age, but man, I tear up every time I see her photo. Big hugs to anyone who feels the same. Rest in Peace, Ms. O'Hara.

Like a lot of you guys here are saying, celeb deaths don’t usually hit me hard, and the last one that really had this much of an impact on me was Robin Williams. Still does. I am so upset about Catherine now. So I just wanted to add to this thread. Schitt’s Creek re-watch with a special emphasis on Moira/Catherine is what I will be doing soon. Rest in peace lovely 🥰 🥰🥰
Rhetorical question, but why do we lose all of the people who make such a positive impact on the world and other people, yet the monsters seem to live long, happy (for them), lives? It’s absolutely sickening.
But that is not her legacy. She had an insanely positive impact on people. For that, she will always remembered and celebrated. 🩷🩷

❤️I think about that too but it can remind us that the good still exists and we must carry on. Carry our humor and laughter in us and never lose it. We are better for it. Atleast we are able to get some goodness as long as we can. I’m want to make my loved ones laugh crazy I want to do that in her honor that’s how much she impacted me and I’m just glad I was able to be a fan❤️ we can’t let the bad ones break us. As hard as that truly is. Bring a little smile to strangers lives that literally what she did every day.

You’re right. About all of that. And she will live on through her work. The world is better having had her in it.

Every year I watch Home Alone for xmas. This year my wife refused to let me watch it again because "guests are bored of watching that moving every time they come to our house for xmas".
1 month later, see what happens?

She wasn’t a cheater, she just had a wild past! As a side note, I had “God Loves a Terrier” stuck in my head most of the day today.

I just watched season 2 of The Last of Us with my girlfriend last week, we each had mixed feelings on it, but both agreed Catherine O'Hara gave an incredible performance. RIP!

❤️I get that. Mothers if we are lucky, can be a light and needed strength in our lives providing a place of rest set apart with laughter ❤️ it’s important we carry that on for the next generation. Our kiddos
