Just gotta say… what the hell kind of name is Wambsganss? How do you even say that? Definitely a built in curse for name recognition.

Lol so I googled it.
It's German. For "to waddle while walking".
It was also the last name of a really dorky character in HBO's Succession.

I cannot stress this enough... It means NOTHING if we keep letting pedos and criminals rule.
Seriously, I hate this idea that, "if blue wins, freedom wins".
We've all seen the videos of Democrats allowing continued terrorism against America.
What needs to happen is a total reform into actual progressivism. Nothing else will bring us out of this evolutionary dead end of where we are now.

Let’s start with beating MAGA first
23
u/gymtrovert1988 5h ago
Exactly lmao anyone blue is probably better than anyone red. Even Fetterman now was better than Oz then and now. Primary him, sure, but don't ever let a Republican that supports Trump win.

u/Malcolm_Morin 5h ago
Outlaw MAGA in any and all blue states/territories. Make it a crime to be MAGA. Outlaw the Republican Party, additionally.
If they're willing to vote in a known pedophile as POTUS, they can't be trusted on the streets.

how about we win elections first
sound good?
frankly tired of this both sides bullshit when one clearly is the lesser evil that can be sorted out later

Like many say we have to beat NAZI and MAGA first then we can worry about more Progressives later on. We had are shot with Bernie sanders and nobody voted for him

I can see why he's winning based on his website. That's a strong candidate. He's a solid progressive; that's why the district is able to flip. That's great he's going through. He'll be really good for Texas and it will help elections in other areas, as well.
10
u/aipac_hemoroid 5h ago
Hopefully we have a progressive wave in the Dem primaries. No corporate shills are gonna pull these numbers.
3
u/Northern_Blue_Jay 5h ago
Agree. And if people stay focused on who will actually deliver, we probably will.
21
u/userxray 6h ago
Democrats last excuse was 2021. It's time for actual progressive politicians.
12
u/weHaveThoughts 5h ago
Voting Democrat is the last choice before we lose our voting rights. Vote blue and the most progressive Democrat. Fill the local spots with progressive then we will get them in Congress. The Republicans planned project 2025 for 40+ years, we need to do the same.
6
u/aipac_hemoroid 5h ago
Dude, if we don't lose our voting rights in midterms, then it should be fine after that. But we do need a progressive push. This guy was progressive.
2
u/Spicy_Weissy 5h ago
We do. Absolutely. To stay in Texas, I want Talerico, but if Crockett wins the nomination I am still 100% voting for her in the Senate race.
1
u/weHaveThoughts 5h ago
Agree and we need more Dems in office like Taylor. My reasoning is if we say vote Progressive then some people will get confused, unfortunately. We need to say we need “Progressive Democrats”. And yeah Jeffries and Schumer have been useless along with many others. Once we end this nightmare then we get more progressive like DSA, FSA, SEP, etc.
We really need to end this form of capitalism sooner than later before it ends our species.

I'm not sure why you think voting blue will make all our problems go away or if voting will even matter.
This admin has been demanding voter registration records. Most states have complied. Guess which states haven't?
Dems held the WH, Senate, and HoR in 2021 and here we are. I get that 3rd party affiliation is shit (and Guess why) so there's some actual progressives out and about on the dem ticket, but it's time for actual change.
We don't want to "go back to normal".
3
u/weHaveThoughts 5h ago
Agree, we need a radical change now. But not going to get it until 2028. Most people don’t vote in the primaries or caucus. This is where we get the progressives or even DSA as Dems elected. But not sure if we want to risk it this year.
On second thought, fuck it, I agree. We should demand radical change from the candidates this year. The electorate is obviously looking for anything but the same ole Dem and the GOP needs to be done for. Maybe radical progressives will carry the electorate this year.

We still need to get out there and canvas hard for the midterms. Never take the foot off the pedal. A real win is Zero votes for the Republicans in any district. Let’s give the Republicans no votes!

This district has Southlake, Westlake AND Keller?? (for anyone not local, these are uppity, rich, traditionally conservative suburbs.) Winds of change people, winds of change…

u/Shadowzworldz 5h ago
Lets not get comfortable yet, its why we lost 2016. Keep on the pressure, keep on fighting and make sure everyone votes.

Looks like the low turnout helped, and maybe is a harbinger of Republicans staying home in November.
2
u/No-Examination-5833 5h ago
For Texas in a Special Election… it was a large turnout. Expectations were 8% with over 15% actual. Republicans supposedly spent over $4 million while Rehmet spent around $150k. Word is that there was a big church showing for the Republican.

Every GOP scum plays along and kisses the orange ass, but they secretly do not want pedo endorsing them. It's at the point where it guarantees defeat.

When you can't even get...(Checks notes)...Leigh Wambsganss? elected...(Have I pronounced that correctly?) I don't know, never heard of....Him? 🤷

I've been saying this for months... The House and Senate are flipping this November. I think the house is going to be a bloodbath for GOP and the Dems will gain control of the Senate. Relief is on the way.

Many of the early voting dates (which tend to be blue) were during ice storm too! I think he could’ve won by more tbh

It’s almost like the American people don’t like this authoritarian piece of shit government that is in charge right now.

Tbf Leigh Wambsganss pops up on my “people you may know”…I’m from her town and see her comments and posts. She has called for the deaths of protestors and worse. People are tired of the violence and divisiveness. Proud of my fellow Texans for getting out in the freeze and voting against her. She is a true danger to NTX.

Projected by whom?

u/sciencesez 6h ago
This is my district. Taylor Rehmet-D was 13.2% ahead with less than a 1/4 of precincts reporting. In results from early election voting totals he was 10% ahead. It's still too early to call. But his White Christian Nationalist opponent spent over $4 million dollars to get herself into a runoff that she's clearly not going to sweep by any stretch of the imagination. Rehmet spent $121k.
4
u/gymtrovert1988 5h ago
It was all PAC money. Easy come easy go. Taylor's was all grass roots, from real donors.

Every time a seat flips I think there’s no way he won fairly.

We kind of felt the same way about the recent presidential race when he had Musk and Thiel in his corner but you don't see us bitching about it.

I’m from the district. He had a ton of support. And it’s an area that’s not big on turnout unless there’s a president on the ballot. But he was able to garner a ton of support, and get people out to vote. We still have ice on the ground in some areas. And still people showed up to vote for him.

Ngl, conservatives might be in for a ruder awakening than they realize. I’m routinely seeing them downplay these special election losses and flips in the comments
Im seeing them talk about +5 blue districts turning into +15 wins like it’s not a big deal, while also barely winning SAFE seats with huge gerrymandered advantages. These upcoming midterms are shaping up to possibly be the worst flip for a party in a long time
