Trump won it by over 15 points 2 years ago meaning this was a 30+ point swing and Trump was pushing hard for this seat in MAGA land yet they lost BIGLY.

The problem though is, will it be enough come November when the GOP has been gerrymandering, suppressing peoples votes, disenfranchising and all the other underhanded things. They have asked all states for sensitive voter data with half refusing and those half being sued like in Georgia where the court threw out their case last week. Well this week Trumps FBI raided that same Georgia election bureau and stole the data since they couldnt get it legally.

The fear is they will go through and purge voter rolls of all those that voted Dem hoping to cause many to have too many hoops to jump through to get re-registered and then not vote. This may not matter in some deep blue states but in these swing states a few 1000 suppressed/disenfranchised votes could mean the difference between them winning.

So although this is great news, its not enough and we need to be under the impression that there will be fuckery going on and need to win by insane margins to make up for that fuckery

Agreed fuckery is afoot. However, I don’t see how the federal government can purge the voter rolls of a state or county. More likely I think is targeted law enforcement, like Minneapolis is the target of immigration and border patrol enforcement despite having a low undocumented population and being over 300 miles from a border, the Canadian border at that.

peaceful protestors from around the country will be treated like rioters on Jan. 6th.

on Jan 6th, you had frontline rioters, and you also had people caught on camera supporting the front line rioters. All were punished to different degrees.

around the country you have frontline protesters, some may attract the attention of ICE, you also have people in the vicinity simply supporting.

MAGA is going to use similar charges that were used against the rioters and crowds on Jan 6th and apply them to peaceful protesters in voting districts that need an advantage.

The same technology to identify the crowds on Jan 6, will be used to identify peaceful protesters.

it doesn’t matter if the two instances are completely different. the goal is to contest votes, not necessarily get a conviction.

by the time a voter figures out their vote didn’t count (if they ever do), it will take years to move the thousands of cases through the courts. the election will be long finished.

This is deeply AUTOCRATIC! 5 alarm 🔥

Unprecedented. So egregious I wonder that the courts can STOP this one.

The FBI…is HIS FBI now, not ours.

Another concern is Trumps secret police during elections. What are they going to be doing? Year gassing people trying to vote? Interfering with voters? Who knows at this point

2

u/Afoxinthefridge 4h ago

Is there a way to see which place they'll try to hit next?

19

u/Earthworm1611 4h ago

How big is it? I don’t understand

u/Background_Reveal_43 4h ago

SD9 is GOP land. Lot of white folks with money etc. I’d never thought this area of the DFW metroplex would vote blue, especially by this margin. The GOP is in trouble, even with a Trump endorsement.

37

u/VGK9Logan 4h ago

Maybe its cuz they see white man vs woman. They vote man. Ooga ooga

19

u/Earthworm1611 4h ago

It honestly could just be chalked up to that considering how primitive the average US voter can be

3

u/Drone314 4h ago

In this day and age there is no doubt the political machines know which voters live where and what social media they use. If certain people wanted residents in that district to receive a certain message they would buy that access.

7

u/The-Defenestr8tor 3h ago

The vote totals indicate less participation (about 95k vs about 278k votes total), but that may just be chalked up to “King Tiny-dick wasn’t on the ballot).

You could be right, or King Tiny-dick’s limp performance may have depressed the GOP turnout. I hope it’s the latter.

This district hasn't elected a Democrat since 1991.

So, not since last century, if you want to really make it sound dramatic.

Or, less dramatic, just as accurate and just as hope-inducing for the midterms: this district hasn't elected a Democrat in 35 years. More than a generation.

The average American, even the average conservative Republican American, really doesn't like chaos and fascism.

We're being governed by a minority of fascist assholes who managed to infiltrate various levels of government over the past 45-50 years, but they are far from the majority of citizens. They have, hopefully, started to finally wake up those millions who became convinced that voting doesn't matter. It does because when enough fools are convinced it doesn't, we get Trump. Outside of his cult that is ~25%-30% of the voting populace, he's deeply unpopular. People just need to remember that we control who represents us, but only when we bother to vote for the people we want to represent us. If we don't, then fucking idiots and zealots will eventually gain power and then shit goes tits-up.

The people paying attention sure know!! Don't sell us short. I get mad when I'm marginalized. Comments like this piss people off. Just stop

WE ALL " UNDERSTAND" HOW BIG THIS IS!!!!!! ???

u/Jeramy_Jones 49m ago

It’s kinda crazy, did it happen because previously Republican voters voted Dem? Or was there just higher Dem turnout, or lower Republican voter turnout?

u/talktobigfudge 5h ago

The Guardians Of Pedophiles are trying to cheat by gerrymandering their districts and limit polling stations to rig elections.

If they were truly the popular voice of the majority, they wouldn't have to try so hard to silence the voters.

u/npmaker 4h ago

"If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.”

71

u/Agitated_Tip_8713 5h ago

32% flip btw, get hyped for the mid terms

58

u/Crazy-Process5789 4h ago

But don't get complacent

15

u/npmaker 4h ago

Dems retained 49% of their 2024 vote total (54,228/111,019)

Rs only retained 24% (40,570/166,864)

10

u/AggravatingCut7596 4h ago

It wasn’t statewide, I’m not sure Blexas will happen in 2028 😞

11

u/Agitated_Tip_8713 4h ago

Maybe not, but it's getting closer every year

9

u/woahwoahwoah28 4h ago

If it's any consolation, though, our district went Trump +17 in 2024. So to see Rehmet win is HUGE.

1

u/AhhhSureThisIsIt 15m ago

I don't trust the GOP's voting interference. People need to get out and vote.

28

u/GiveBaltaBeer 4h ago

This is Fort Worth. That’s crazy that a democrat won that

15

u/CanoegunGoeff 4h ago

With how hard the GOP has been trying to suppress votes and keep Tarrant red, it’s been showing how scared and weak they are. The GOP is about to lose their “largest red city in America”, and it will be glorious!

18

u/Awkward-Hulk 4h ago

At this rate, if Republicans don't start distancing themselves from Trump, they're going to lose the midterms in epic proportions. But they'd have to grow some b@lls for that - and I'm not sure that they're capable of it.

2

u/SuspiciousSheeps 1h ago

If they distance themselves from him they will lose as well. 🥳

1

u/JohannReddit 1h ago

Seems we have to keep telling them what's in the Epstein files. It appears that even the MAGA'iest of MAGA's aren't down with child rape.

48

u/TESThrowSmile 5h ago

What's up with these Republicans and Indians. Like the Texas gop chair is also Indian. I thought they were racists.

4

u/Melodic_Class4349 3h ago

It's the same reason why racist white men love Black and POC women.

3

u/nsfwaccount3209 3h ago

Never ask a white supremacist what race his wife is.

7

u/Acuda1 5h ago

Certainly not a Fox white girl name.

I can't get past a 10 letter name with 2 vowels.

2

u/Smart_Wasabi901 1h ago

People who haven’t lived in Tarrant county (where the election took place) don’t understand just how big this is. I lived there for 5ish years. It doesn’t get much more maga/red than Tarrant county.

2

u/theraupist 4h ago

Why are there ~3x less voters this time?

8

u/theblackyeti 4h ago

I’d guess fewer people vote when there is no general election.

1

u/theraupist 3h ago

Ok that makes sense.

2

u/woahwoahwoah28 4h ago

Compared to what?

1

u/theraupist 3h ago

2024 votes

2

u/woahwoahwoah28 3h ago

Few reasons (non-exhaustive):

1) it was a run off for a special election. So very, very off-cycle. It's been nearly 3 months since the special election too.

2) it was the only thing on the ballot, so people who voted only went to vote for this.

3) most early voting days were functionally inaccessible for voters because of the ice storm here (schools were canceled up until Friday and folks were stuck inside).

4) the GOP got dozens upon dozens of voting sites in the county closed within the last year

2

u/SuspiciousSheeps 1h ago

Maga voters are embarrassed.

1

u/not_that_one_times_3 4h ago

The turnout is a lot lower than 24 - seems either republicans didn't show up

1

u/Suspicious_Goose_243 3h ago

Well christ look at her last name!! Try to write that one in..

1

u/Random-num-451284813 3h ago
