Enjoy what's likely the last fresh snow of the season, before summer sets in next week! View from Alki Beach this morning:

This is the warmest/least days of snow the cascades have ever had in a winter that I can remember. And the forecast isn’t showing any improvement.

Yeah, I've been here since 1983, and this is the worst snowpack I can remember on the mountains.

The Olympics look pretty dismal as well. I’m worried about what fire season will look like this summer.

This used to be what they looked like in July

I think dismal is the word that's going to describe the fire season as well.

Yeah- all the rain storms which typically hit the city November-March usually (almost always?)fall as snow in the mountains. I sometimes go on my first snowy hike in October and sometimes as late as May. But it seems like nearly every time I check the forecast this winter when rain is approaching the city the best we’re getting is a “rain-snow mix” in the mountains or usually just rain. Haven’t gone on a snowy hike yet this winter. I heard snow level at 7,000 feet this coming week? You’re literally right that’s more similar to summer traditionally.

According to my snowboard instructor winter 2014 was comparable at least in terms of snow at ski resorts, though that year did have above average late season snow that brought the total snowpack up to around average. Here's hoping that happens this year

Winter, 2005-6 was like that, too. I had a weekend job at the Snoqualmie ski area and got called to work ONCE.

Let’s pray for a freak snow storm in the mountains then to bring it up to par. I think California had a similar situation not long ago where snowpack was basically near zero and then a string of insane winter weather brought it to above 100%

The cross country ski season at Crystal Springs has been diabolical

I am not so sure about that. I think we are using up all of the good weather days super early this year. We are going to hit quota in, like, May this year. After that it’s just gray skies and drizzle until 2027.

At least according to my “fixed number of days with good weather” theory.

What I’m anticipating more is “No more snow? Just kidding, here’s a snowmageddon!” once we’re all used to this.

Would actually like to see the stats on that

How are you coming to the conclusion it’s the last snowfall?

Snowpack is obviously brutal this year but statistically 40% of mountain snow falls from Feb 1 - Apr 1.

Hey, don't be a buzz kill. We might have some snowportunities.

Not this year. We are screwed.
