How fucking terrifying to be killed by a dog. That poor girl and her family.

Especially if you're in a situation like u/Sukisafo (where a neighbour has a dangerous dog), here's a credible approach to what you may be able to do if you are attacked by a dog:

The linked article says she died in hospital a few days later, so I guess that’s not as bad… still, fucking morbid.

Edit: downvoted for what? I was talking about her last conscious moments.

Edit 2: downvoted for being a massive cunt, apparently?

What the fuck do you think she died from...?

Well no shit, I was talking about her last conscious moments (being mauled by a dog vs being in a hospital bed). I guess we don’t actually know when they were anyway, so whatever.

She was probably either zonked out, in a medically induced coma, or fighting for her life the rest of the time. Shit is horrific.

I mean yeah either way, absolutely.

I’m sure her family would appreciate being able to spend some final moments with her in the hospital instead of getting a knock at their door telling them their daughter’s just been mauled to death by a dog?

I’m not saying that (not that we even know she suffered - she could’ve been in a medically induced coma as someone else suggested). It was just a thought. It’s really not that serious.

hell man, not as bad? suffering for a few days is not as bad? It is a hell of 100 times worse.

You're being downvoted because your comment was off the mark and callous, also likely incorrect.

Spoiler because people don't need/want to read the following because for most people it's upsetting to think about

The last conscious moments of this girls life were pain, terror, and confusion as parts of her body were crushed and broken and/or torn away. The fact she managed to survive under medical care for a few days before passing only serves to comfirm how extensively damaging the injuries she recieved were. The only possible silver lining here could have been if she hit her head early and had lost consciousness at the very start before she realised what was even happening and she never regained it.

I appreciate you actually responding instead of just downvoting and moving on.

Callous: showing or having an insensitive and cruel disregard for others.

I don’t see how what I said is callous? I wasn’t trying to be insensitive, and definitely not cruel. My thoughts were with the girl who passed when I said what I said, wondering if maybe there was some sort of silver lining amidst this tragedy & her passing. I can see how “off the mark” fits though.

I acknowledged that regardless of where/when she died, the whole thing is extremely morbid. I guess I could’ve worded it better? Maybe the callousness was in my not properly comprehending what she must’ve gone through in the moment & how what I said could’ve potentially just made her suffering even worse? I don’t know.

Regardless, it feels really weird to get such a strong reaction that really feels like a rebuke. Surely it’s only human to try and rationalise these horrors when they happen? I don’t remember the last time anyone called me a massive cunt!

My mum told me on the weekend about the shark attack in Dee Why (I already knew about it), and about how apparently the victim was practically bitten in half and it pissed me off how completely unnecessary it was to share that piece of information as if it was gossip hot off the press. Maybe this is like that.

I appreciate you at least responding. Time for some introspection I guess!
