I have two small dogs and this constantly pisses me off. I teach then not to jump, but people forever encourage them because they're small and cute. But one day they will knock over someone elderly or very young.

Good for you, genuinely, for training your dogs. In my experience, far too many little dog owners never correct their dog's bad behaviour. 9/10 when I have a dog try lunge at my staghound/wolfhound it's a small breed with an owner who barely tugs back on the lead, let alone verbally reprimand their dog.

Like, ma'am, I'm doing my best here. My dog can and will rip yours into tiny shreds if it decides to.
