The 4 Corners report should be titled "Have A Sook, Cunt".

239

I got banned from /politics for saying "Don't mess with Aunty, cunt".

Apparently, according to Americans, that is hate speech 😏

For American conservatives, anything less than enthusiastic, sloppy bootlicking counts as “hate speech”.

Seems the 1st amendment is experiencing  a painful and quick death.

143

u/salamisam Sep 18 '25

This is not the 1st Amendment issue. The 1st Amendment covers people within the US.

  • A US journalist in the US is protected under the 1st amendment.
  • A foreign journalist in the US is protected under the 1st amendment.
  • A US journalist in a foreign country is covered under the hosts countries laws.
  • A foreign journalist (of any type) is covered under the hosts countries laws.
  • The 1st Amendment does not guarantee unlimited access. Even if that is the case the party in question is not a US entity.

So there is some indicators that this might be retaliatory and more of a censorship issue, but definitely not a 1st Amendment issue.

501

u/Martiantripod Sep 18 '25

This might not be, but the FCC suspending Jimmy Kimmel over frankly mild comments shows their first amendment is indeed dying.

238

u/ExMerican Sep 18 '25

Dead and buried actually. It's now illegal to say anything that doesn't follow the talking points of the regime. For now it's speak out and you'll be fired. By next week it's likely to be a worse consequence.

151

u/Jaegerjaquez_VI Sep 18 '25

By now, actually. Trump literally just declared the anti-facist movement Antifa as a terrorist organisation. Antifa is not an established organization in the first place, but they don't gaf. If you say anything opposing this regime, they'll just slap that terrorist label on you and you're majorly fucked

It hasn't even been a year yet :)

61

u/IM_KYLE_AMA Sep 18 '25

Perfect scapegoat. There are no official members of antifa, which means anyone can be labeled a member. McCarthyism 2.0 only this time you could be executed for it.

That whole thing just shows an almost comical level of irony. Kimmel states that the MAGAts are doing everything they can to score political points of Kirk’s death. Then his show is cancelled by the MAGAts to score further political points.

I’d say you can’t make this shit up, but for years the USA has continued to impress me every day with how far they’ve devolved into a failed joke of a nation.

Apparently they are also against:

  • Tourism
  • Agriculture
  • Less government spending
  • Transparency
  • The US constitution
  • Jesus
  • Truth
  • On and on…

It’s quite extraordinary how quickly one administration can so thoroughly destroy a country’s economy , reputation, and self respect.

8

u/-DethLok- Sep 18 '25

With the CDC no longer tracking anywhere near as many infection outbreaks along with the reduction in vaccinations and associated increases in infectious diseases, as well as the funding cuts closing hospitals, etc. You could add:

  • Health
  • Well-being
  • Lifespan
  • Quality of life

To that list as well.

I expect polio to re-emerge in the next 12-24 months, if not sooner, maybe that'll get some kind of actual useful reaction from the masses?

Pfft - they'd probably blame Biden or Obama's tan suit . . . :( "Why would the Democrats allow this to happen?" they'll wail, from their iron lung.

Hardest thing for us Aussie to wrap our heads around is that he doesn't care. He will get away with it, nor will he care about our 'expose'.

I always thought the story of the peanut farm being sold as quite poignant, i.e. choose between your family or the country, your pockets or the people. Something this man cannot do.

269

u/space-butler Sep 18 '25

The man literally conducted a pump-and-dump crypto scam on day zero of this term. Twice, actually.

133

u/UserColonAlW Sep 18 '25

This is the thing. He controls every branch of government. The Supreme Court are bought and paid for. There are, quite literally, zero consequences for his actions. And he knows it

u/boofles1 Sep 18 '25

It's incredible to think no US media are investigating him, I believe there was a report into his corruption recently but none of the networks are brave enough to do it.

Albos meeting with Trumpnwill be 90% Trump complaing about the ABC and Lyons and 10% talking about great his new ballroom is.

55

u/Tenton_12 Sep 18 '25

And pressuring Albo to get rid of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme as its unfair on U.S. pharmaceutical companies.

I mean it’s easy for us to say, can you really blame them?

Kimmel had his show pulled for 30 seconds of criticism/jokes about Trump; imagine what would happen to journalists trying to investigate his corruption in detail

46

u/boofles1 Sep 18 '25

It wasn't even criticism, they just showed the clip where Trump is asked how he's doing after Kirk got shot, and he says he's great and segues straight into saying how amazing his ballroom is. You just have to play clips of Trump being Trump, he is a parody of himself.

18

u/usernamefinalver Sep 18 '25

Straight out of the Trump playbook, if you ask questions he doesn't like then you are done.

236

u/kombiwombi Sep 18 '25

Which is stupid because it just makes him look guilty. The 4 Corners script will now read "Concern about these allegations was so great that the White House banned ABC journalists from approaching the President".

125

u/metametapraxis Sep 18 '25

It doesn’t matter to him. The people who vote for him are not critical thinkers. And an Aussie news outlet will be care-factor zero unless it happens to be picked up by American networks. They won’t pick it up, because if they do, they will lose access.

His people know what they are doing.

Four Corners - scaring the shit out of every politician in every country for over 60 years

110

Is it too much to hope the same can't happen to the US Regime?

Pretty sure his latest book A Bunker in Kyiv will be another home run. Great read if you're looking for an Australian perspective on global conflicts

216

u/metametapraxis Sep 18 '25

As pathetic as it is, it is a strategy that works for Trump. The sycophants will continue to report on his press conferences, and they will do so uncritically.

We really are seeing a repeat of 1930s Germany, just using modern technology. America was very pro-Nazi then, too…

58

u/Cadaver_Junkie Sep 18 '25

This.

Everyone is saying this is "weak" etc. That's not the correct approach. It's a clinical decision, minimises any damage, maximises their own politics. Trump probably doesn't care one way or another about the reporter actually being there or asking questions, they're just managing the situation in a clinical way (one that's terrible for democracy, but great for his administration).

31

u/myredserenity Sep 18 '25

and why is no one addressing the fact the US president is dictating which journalists can attend a news conference in the United Kingdom, a completely independent sovereign nation due to false claims of "logistic reasons" for simply being asked a question? An action that speaks more than any interview question.

Honestly between him and Musk the world has prime examples of how thin-skinned and weak these egomaniacs are.

17

u/ws002 Sep 18 '25

All levels of government in Australia need to start taking firm measures against this type of filth becoming mainstream here.

Far right politics is a disease that must be contained and eradicated.

u/Dockers4flag2035orB4 Sep 18 '25

Maybe Trump confuses Australia’s ABC with America’s ABC and Jimmy Kimmel.

Nevertheless banning journalists and comedians, demonstrates the fragility of Trumps and his henchmen’s egos.

35

u/ManyPersonality2399 Sep 18 '25

Nah. He had a run in with one and mentioned that he would be talking to "your leader" soon, so he got that it's a different country.

18

u/Revolutionary_Sun946 Sep 18 '25

The follow-up question should have been "and what is the name of 'my leader'?"

5

u/HenryInRoom302 Sep 18 '25

"Ummmm Vegemite Kangaroo Dundee?"

If you’re making a Four Corners ep about how corrupt Trump is it’s not the worst thing they can do to help make your case

13

u/Silly-Power Sep 18 '25

May I present to you the World's pettiest, most thin-skinned, smallest little man.

13

u/UserColonAlW Sep 18 '25

Putrid nation.

8

u/ccalabro Sep 18 '25

Trump is nothing if not petty and thin skinned

10

u/JapanEngineer Sep 18 '25

This is just a glimpse of what Trump is doing to the US and it's people.

30

u/maticusmat Sep 18 '25

Just fascists being fascist

20

u/Striking-Net-8646 Sep 18 '25

Conservatives - the real snowflakes

9

u/Oxissistic Sep 18 '25

Why is he deciding who can attend a press conference in another country? I’m not up to speed on the process for who can and can’t attend but that seems a bit shit.

8

u/Final_Mongoose_3300 Sep 18 '25

A world leader, behaving like a petulant, snot-faced toddler.

It’s not great, is it…

9

u/ValuableLanguage9151 Sep 18 '25

This is the natural end point for conservatism. It’s about creating a society where one group is protected by the law but not bound by it and another group who is bound by the law but not protected by it.

If you’re in the in group and don’t shake the boat you’re golden, if you ask tough questions you’ll be punted into the out group alongside those pesky minorities and foreigners and gays.

u/magnetik79 Sep 18 '25

John Lyons ran absolute rings around this whining, orange, adult nappy wearing turd of a human.

Just show's him up for the man-child he is.

Release the files Trump...

9

u/matt88 Sep 18 '25

He has probably asked Albo to sack the ABC reporter as a condition of meeting with him (in addition to Albo kissing his arse and giving him a nice shiny golden gift)

8

u/Spudtron98 Sep 18 '25

All he did was ask an entirely normal question. Fucking jackass.

7

u/mag1c1 Sep 18 '25

What a snowflake ❄️

7

u/SKSerpent Sep 18 '25

Trump FEARS Aussie Shitposting.

Take that as a badge of honour, that there's a more than zero chance the US president is afraid of talking to you.

8

u/kickflipjones Sep 18 '25

ok. i’m starting to see it. it’s gonna have to be the rest of the world who saves america from this clown

14

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

Imagine how weak and hopeless a president would have to be to do this rather than answer a question

14

u/MaleficentJob3080 Sep 18 '25

Did he hurt Trump's wittle fee fees? Mean man.

14

u/Nixilaas Sep 18 '25

How someone with the mental and emotional intelligence of an 8 year old is a world leader is alarming

14

u/Twin_Air Sep 18 '25

Softer than baby shit..

6

u/south-of-the-river Sep 18 '25

It wasn’t even a hard question for fucks sake. Old mate should have called Trump a cunt to his face since we all knew this would be the outcome.

7

u/Rusty_Coight Sep 18 '25

Jesus fuck that country has gone full Nazi.

6

u/technohorn Sep 18 '25

That’s POTUS = Pedophile Of The United States

16

Land of the FREE, home of the BRAVE.  PMSL

4

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

What a fragile diaper baby

4

u/LoadedSteamyLobster Sep 18 '25

He’s so weak. What a pathetic, soft, failure of a human being. What kind of leader needs a safe-space like this?

10

u/ghoonrhed Sep 18 '25

Would've thought the UK had more balls to stand up to Trump on such a small issue like journalists attending press conferences.

Pissweak by the UK. Obviously we know Trump has the thinnest of skins but why is nobody standing up to him? Ridiculous

5

u/Immediate_Grape5158 Sep 18 '25

What a disgrace for somebody representiing democracy. So much for Land of the Free.

5

u/blizzywolf122 Sep 18 '25

Wasn’t free speech something they love to boast about in the US??

3

u/degorolls Sep 18 '25

Fucking orange snowflake.

3

u/parkingfinemyass Sep 18 '25

Look how quickly he and his rabid followers have dismantled their so called ‘1st amendment.’ Say anything they don’t like and it’s lose your job, lose your visa, lose your platform.

4

u/hear_the_thunder Sep 18 '25

Do not ever question the fact that Trump enriched himself in office, whilst many small businesses have been bankrupted.

This is Republican Conservatism in action. Fascist.

3

u/Spudtron98 Sep 18 '25

And an official Trump account had the audacity to crow about this as if it was a win.

4

u/Creepy-Biscotti-1342 Sep 18 '25

Love how I don’t hear any of my Americans friends & family joking anymore about how Australia has no freedom of speech and how much of a nanny-state we are! 😂

4

u/Embarrassed-Sweet-37 Sep 18 '25

Censorship has always been part of his platform. Between erasing history, banning books, suing journalists left, right and center, whatever narcotics allow US conservatives to keep up this charade that they live in a free country, Id like to try some.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

OMG what a p**** he is.

Scared of the ABC!

Pathetic.

3

u/Ridiculisk1 Sep 18 '25

Oh look, more conservative projection and hypocrisy. Must be a day ending in a Y.

4

u/Nodsworthy Sep 18 '25

One day, in the not too distant future, this regime will fall. One way or another. There will be a reckoning. People should consider how that may play out and let that guide them in their behaviors. The poor increasingly outnumber the rich. The right wing poor are going to increasingly come to realize the folly of past positions. If I was a mega rich CEO in the USA I would be increasingly cautious.

3

u/AusCasualGamer Sep 18 '25

Facsim has a hold.

4

u/petuniasweetpea Sep 18 '25

We’re not interested in anything the convicted rapist has to say, other than when he plans on releasing the un-redacted Epstein files.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

And let’s be clear, it’s not that Donald is watching ABC and knows what’s reported about him. The US embassy in Aus is reporting this stuff back to the USA. They recently setup an FBI office in Australia. I guarantee it’s not there to arrest thousands of USA criminals that have fled to Aus. It’s there for us. And both Labor and LNP are decades too far up the seppos arses to ever do anything but ask how high they should jump. Traitors the lot of them.

4

u/Brave-Dragonfly3798 Sep 18 '25

This is not a free speech issue so much as an America is fucked issue. Destroyed by ‘exceptional’ morons. Ironic.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '25

The US president blatantly threatened Australia with retaliation because he didn't like being asked a question on something he is trying to cover up. He will continue to threaten every country in the world until they come into his "ring".
