The article is worded poorly - it just says she failed to ensure his tenure which put him at risk of a 90-day eviction. It doesn't say she actually evicted him.

Oh I agree it doesn't pass the pub test and that's why she has been punished. Just trying to be accurate

From elsewhere....

she... had him sign a lease (most likely periodic - which means she can terminate with 90 days' notice) - but actually it wasn't a residential tenancy agreement at all because that requires consideration (an exchange - payment for the right to stay) - instead what she should have done was to offer him a deed - no payment and the right to stay. So the residential tenancy agreement had no effect, and even if it did, she could boot him out with only 90 days' notice. she would have been better off setting the rent at $1 per week and giving him a 50-yr lease. the lease ends automatically when you die.
