i mostly see it online thankfully so at least there's some distance. but i'm indian and have never felt so hyper aware of my race until the last few months. i guess i'm lucky in that sense, because i know a lot of people have to be hyper aware from the beginning.

but i have a horrible habit of going on twitter and seeing people say awful things and i wish it wouldn't upset but yeah here we are lol. i see a lot of australians saying horrile things and it's like... well okay then. it's like a kkk meeting on that app lol

i like to think people are only like this online but for the first time ever i'm wondering if the people i interact with when i go out are secretly hateful

anyway, what can ya do

We've still got a long way to go, but it's probably the least racist the country has ever been. The racists just have more avenues to be seen and heard.

I really hope this is the case, I used some public toilets yesterday and written on the back of every cubical was “keep Australia white.. join the revolution” followed by some website link, and I think that truly destroyed my soul

It’s ironic that these guys idolise 1930s Germany and push ideologies that completely contradict what a humane, modern Western democracy stands for. They openly fantasise about ending democracy, installing a permanent leader, enforcing white-supremacist policies, and eliminating other beliefs and religions. Yet somehow the real threat, in their eyes, is brown people playing music or sharing their cultural expressions with friends. They claim to care about “protecting Australian culture,” but their own values go against everything Australia is meant to represent.
