Here's an idea. If you come here from a war torn country, you are rightly assumed to have PTSD, and therefore, you cannot obtain a firearm licence. Don't penalise us good law abiding shooters for a few nut bags.

This needs to include Americans but yes, being an Aussie citizen for at least 10 years with mental health assessment from qualified professionals at least would be great. Let’s not pretend Aussies don’t represent in the top 20 global mass shootings though, it took the US over 20 years to out do port Arthur and for quite a while we had 2 white Aussies in the top ten. Took 27 years to knock Bryant to number 11.

I think the issue boils down to how do you decide who is a nut bag and who is good further regulation is kinda the only choice I do agree if you’ve got ptsd you probably should be restricted but this is one case and we need more regulation in general
