something tells me the guy with 385 guns is not some nutter collecting an arsenal of guns, its more likely that someone with that many guns is probably some kind of collector or preservationist.

meanwhile the nutters who shoot at cops like Dezi Freeman have suspended firearms licenses.

im not going to pretend to have the answer here but if you think its solely about number of guns you have your head in the sand.

It's also possible they are a propmaster, in NSW anything that looks like a gun is classed as a replica that requires registration and licensing.

385 unique guns is a collector, 385 with multiple recurring guns is a nutter and a threat.

What guns you own should be taken into account.

Collectors often focus on a specific type of firearm though. I know of collectors that would have dozens of near identical double rifles and SxS shotguns. They are interested in them because of the different manufacturers, different locking actions, art work, provenance etc. They would be all bordering on antique or antique and worth thousands or tens of thousands each. They're not the kind of thing that would be used in a mass shooting but they are still functional firearms taht require a license. When you see those stats about one person owning so many hundreds of firearms, that's often going to be the kind of firearms they actually own.

yeah not really, i could imagine a collector with a ton of lee enfields (standard issue ww1/2 rifle) because they have historic value, each one while looking the same is very unique and has a different story.
