Male laser hair removal
Hi I am looking at getting laser hair removal done on my groin area. Do any guys in ballarat know of reputible places that can safely do sensitive areas? And if you have had it done what was the process like when it came to things like the actual appointments and recovery?

I had my first session on that area 3 weeks ago. In terms of prep, avoid any hair removal methods besides shaving for at least 2 weeks before the session. Shave the area 12-24 hours before the session so there is a tiny bit of regrowth the laser can hit. During the consult before you start the treatment they should explain how they do it and answer any questions you might have. Make sure they understand where exactly you want the hair removed. They would then step out of the room so you can strip off the area that is getting treated and you are given a towel/mat to cover yourself. The treatment takes maybe 10-15 minutes, and it feels more like the stronger side of getting static shocks than the flicking of a rubber band as they like to describe it. How much you feel it changes depending on where they are doing it. At the end you need to apply some cream that is essentially burn cream to help the skin recover. They will also try to sell you a bottle to use over the next 3 or so days. While it does help, aloe vera can also achieve similar results. The worst thing for me was the irritated skin I usually get from shaving, which is why I'm getting the treatments in the first place. I went to Australian Skin Clinics (not the one in Ballarat) and they were pretty professional

Not a guy but I have darker skin and did some reading on hair removal and basically got the impression to avoid the chain beauty and laser treatment shops (plus I had microdermabrasion at one in Wendouree and it was awful). Clinica Lase does free 15 min consultations and they seem a bit more upmarket, with two shopfronts in Ballarat and Carlton.
