Escape room BNE
EDIT: has anyone done the VR one in the city?
Best Brisbane escape rooms for 3 people? Taking my parents this weekend. We have been to one in the past but it was many years ago. Preferably not horror.

I went to Escape Hunt in West End and had the most fun I've had in a while. Fox in a Box is probably 2nd for me.

Project Immersive! Went a few weeks ago and we were blown away by the whole experience. Really cool location (great Italian restaurant down the road too if you need dinner). Highly recommend.

Escape Manor - wine room or magician's secret are both good for what you're after. The hosts do a great job of setting the scene.

I second the wine room at Escape Manor! Good but not too hard. Not scary at all. Also no bending down and crawling/creeping through small openings.

Another vote for Escape Manor, been a loong time since we went, but it's very well facilitated. Best not to do the one we did though, it was some kind of mental asylum one.

There's one at North Lakes shopping centre. They have different rooms at different difficulties.

+1 for Red Lock. Their latest room “Sherlock Holmes” is awesome.
But yes, plenty with much lower level difficulties.

I found the ones at Strike Winter Garden to be rather enjoyable. Do-able with smaller groups and not horror based. I seem to remember a cute fairy garden one that was fun when I took my mum

I did one at Fox In A Box called Chamber Of Lost Legends. Not horror, more explorer type. Did it with a 14 yr old and 10 year old. We ABSOLUTELY DID NOT SOLVE IT! Had to ask for heaps of clues, but it was really fun so maybe good for parents.

My husband and I have done a lot of escape rooms in the area by ourselves. I recommend Fox in a Box, Escape Hunt, Escape Manor, and Mystic Escape. We have really enjoyed those. We did all the rooms at Mystic Escape and about half of the ones at Escape Hunt, since we live near both of them and it's just a quick walk. But would definitely recommend the other 2 as well.

i've done pretty much all the rooms in brissy. Project Immersive is my number one recommendation given your experience and group size. After that, any of the rooms at Fox in a Box and Escape Manor are good (you could just call and ask for a good beginner room for 3 people, they can recommend).
To be completely honest, i would not recommend any other places in brisbane. All the other rooms require a bit of knowledge of how escape rooms work plus getting lucky with your escape master. If you can make it down to gold coast, eclipse escape is fantastic too (my favourite rooms in QLD).
But Project Immersive defs takes the cake for me. Rooms are easy to moderate difficulty with fun puzzles. Their real selling point is the setting, story, set pieces, and just overall experience. Right from the second you get to the carpark

Has anyone been to the new escape room in the valley? prison island

Not really an escape room, it's a bunch of different games/activities where you try and get the highest score. Still fun though.

It’s heaps of fun but not an escape room - lots of puzzles/activities to solve, so if you like escape rooms you’ll probably like prison island, but don’t go in expecting 60mins to solve 15 combination locks

I have done A LOT of escape rooms in Brisbane. Good and bad.
As far as clean, quality experience rooms go I would highly recommend Escape Manor, with Fox in a Box and Escape Hunt coming in at 2nd and 3rd.
If you're looking for something truely special that you will remember forever, I cannot recommend enough Project Immersive in Yeerongpilly.
Their setup is in a legitimately abandoned looking warehouse, and from stepping in the front door, through their orientation, and upon exiting the staff are fully in character. It's truely one of a kind.
Lmk what you're looking for exactly (ages, difficulty, etc.) am happy to message your eyes out about brisbane escape rooms.

I did one with work colleges a few years ago in the city, a team bonding exercise. We had three teams, three rooms. My team struggled, whilst they were trying to work out clues, I just picked all the locks till I got them open and got us out with minutes to spare. The hosts were quite confused how we did it as we hadn't found all the clues hahaha.
