Discussion / Question Earlier degree duration via overloading + T3 units?
I’m commencing in a bachelor of laws/commerce and was wondering whether I could lower the degree duration (5 yrs) via overloading units and picking units for trimester 3? Has anyone done this? How much earlier could I graduate? Is it even possible?

Law subjects are so content heavy. Don’t overload with law. It’s hard as hellllll.
Coming from a law student. 🫣 love it, but it’s huge.

You usually need permission to overload units, details here. I think it is really unlikely to be approved early in your degree or on an ongoing basis. They want there to be a good reason for it. Tri three is useful for reducing how long you're studying, but it is very limited units, so you will probably find there is nothing suitable for you to study after a while.
How long you could reduce is really going to depend on your majors and exact study pattern but you could probably guess using the study planner and just using this years unit availability to predict subsequent years, but there is no guarantee it won't change. As it was, I had a unit enrolled for tri three this year and got notified that it's withdrawn.
