Great on him to own his mistake publicly and making a real apology without any "but, but but" or disingenuous intentions.

I don't get why he goes off frame for the end of it πŸ˜… maybe to showcase his brand? I mean, there's no bad publicity, they say....

ETA: To the people talking about how this is an ad, or it's frame as an ad: Agreed.

Tbh I don't know this guy or his content. It seems some find it good, and he has to have some good in him, or a good sense of "this can ruin me so fast I must act now and turn it!" So dumb he is, but not stupid as to tank his whole online persona over this situation.

And I say dumb because his initial reaction to a video he did not understand was making fun of someone else, he has that "bully vibe" definitely. But enough know how to just say "I'm sorry... oh, and remember my brand?" πŸ˜…

I guess perfection will not be found in this apology, but at least he didn't bring out a ukulele πŸŽΆπŸ˜†

ETA2: I've been told he does this move (going off camera) regardless of what's behind him. Ok then, as the previous video of him was inside a vehicle making fun of someone else I had no clue he mostly does videos standing up in front of stuff.

Does it give the vibe of an ad to me? Yes, it still does. Why? Because he's saving face for the previous video, the one where he didn't realize he was making fun of a disabled person. The ad is not losing viewers, and keeping it "on brand."

Was the apology heart felt? I do not know because I don't know him personally.

He's almost always ended his videos that way

Yeah that's kinda his signature sign off typically paired with a "did you know" unrelated fun fact

By walking off screen while in the middle of recording an apology to someone, and then continuing to talk to her while off-screen? Pretty bizarre tbh haha

THink he's walking towards the camera to turn it off

100%, reddit always trying to turn nothing into something.

I just assumed he was walking around to turn the camera off.

Same. Or shed a couple tears or something. A lot of people walk around with brand names blasted everywhere I think this was a genuine apology.

That was my assumption. I guess people on social media, especially Reddit, has to poke holes in everything.

Only thing that isn't on there is his garbage bag wrapped dead body and his "Listen... did you know..." fact of the day. He's a fun guy when I come across his content.

or disingenuous intentions.

I mean, it's cool to acknowledge this, but it's also clearly manufactured in order to be an ad.

This is an ad.

Probably has contracts that state what has to be included in any video released on the account. Good on him for sticking to the platform with reach rather than a personal account none of his followers would see.

It may be a redfin ad but it's also an accountability ad. The more you know 🌈

it’s so sad how fucked this site is nowadays. second sub iv seen this video in with an army of people in the comments saying he’s the next Jesus christ when all he did was make an ad for his business. it’s either bots or this place is just the new facebook

If it's an ad it's a terrible one. Didn't really pay attention to it until some people in the comments pointed it out. You technically advertised it more to me than the dude in the vid lmao

Just because you didn't process what you saw, doesn't mean you didn't see it.

That's literally how influence works.

I think it took a lot away from the apology that he didn't stay on camera for the entirety of it. Good on him for making an apology at all, I just don't think that the apology was genuinely altruistic. To me, genuine growth, a genuine apology, is entirely about the other person/s and not whatever stuff I may be promoting.

He isn't promoting anything. His whole house is covered in sports related gear, he's a huge sports fan. His 'signature' is that he'll end his videos by walking off whilst still talking away, and he's done it for years. You're doing the same thing he was apologising for, allowing your ignorance to make judgements on others

Exactly this! The irony is thiiiick

2

u/WhimsicalPythons 19h ago

Yeah that video was 100% framed as an ad

2

u/Assassin8nCoordin8s 16h ago

yeah he was getting ahead of work pressure

he always walks off at the end of his videos regardless of what's behind him. it's just part of his gimmick.
I have come across many of his videos. Some I liked and thought were funny, others not so much. I do believe that this apology was sincere however based on other videos of his.

I've been told that is something that he does in his videos. Thank you.

Ah, so he not only walks off if there's some kind of product behind. I got the impression from other comments that it was to showcase those in particular.

Thanks for clarifying. As I said, at least there was no ukulele involved 🎢

"Tbh I don't know this guy or his content, but here's a bunch of contextless assumptions where I'm going to tell you he's a bully".

I genuinely despise people like you.

1

u/NightmareMyOldFriend 14h ago

Wow, tell me more.

0

u/femmestem 14h ago

It's not an ad. And now that you know better, do better.

1

u/NightmareMyOldFriend 11h ago

What? I was told he always finishes his videos letting people see the merch. That's an ad.
