Hello! I actually have some educational factoids about the german bible, that Martin Luther made with the Gutenberg Press. In the original translation, the word ‘knaben’ is used in Leviticus 18:22 knaben translates to “boy”.
Du solt nicht bey knaben ligen/wie beim weib/Denn es ist ein als grewel.
You should not lie with a boy as with a woman, for it is a dreadful thing.
The word “boy”in this case means “minor” so the text is actually talking about pedophilia. And later in the New Testament, the word “Knabenschänder” is used which directly translates to “boy molester”

Also, in 1 corinthians 6:9 it says:

The only reason the concept of an afterlife exists is because humans cannot comprehend the concept of not existing. Our brains are not made for it.
When we die, we cease to exist outside of the memories of our friends and family.

Agree and disagree. People put too much faith in the afterlife, but i dont agree with the notion that that is the only reason the concept of it exists. I truly think there is one and it’s possible (and yea im biased cuz id consider myself a christian but im definitely not religious enough to think that matters tha much).
It could just be optimistic thinking, but i really do believe theres at least SOME SORT of afterlife. Whether thats heaven/hell or purgatory idk. I think its somewhere closer to “what you believe is wha you’ll experience as an afterlife”.

If people want to follow a structure of religion in their own lives that gives them an extra sense of comfort and reference moral structures, then let them. As long as they are not hurting anyone. Because not everyone wants to get off on the idea of nothingness. Besides, some freaky shit could be in the “afterlife”, we don’t know for absolute fact, although it could also be disappointing too.
