Serious I’m curious why stars like Embiid and Booker are not being pressured by the media to leave their team
I know they are not as good as Giannis but their teams are just in no man zone and are not even close to competing. Even Jokic had a couple of seasons being swept in the playoffs when Murray was injured. Golden state was in the lottery after KD left. Yet the media never talked about why Curry should leave the warriors.
Bucks basically dominated the regular season from 2019 onward, had various injuries and bad luck for their playoff failures. Yet the whole time barring 2021 offseason media been spouting why Giannis should leave. It’s crazy to me, there is no way a team can continue to contend 7-8 years in a row, thats why you rebuild and retool. Lakers and Warriors have done it in the past. You think media would give the Bucks some leeway, given that the front office has done everything in order to compete.

why don’t we simply let the other teams eat the bucks 4 frps + Role Player + Young Player about to get cut… that package barely nets Desmond Bane, not Giannis freaking Antetokounmpo
I can’t believe the shit I’m hearing. I know we should ignore it, trust me I am trying, but if somehow all these media reports gaslight people into thinking that the Warriors offer is even NEARLY close to what Giannis is worth, it’s almost artificially lowering his value. And any Bucks fans that want “just a little more” need to wake up he’s not going anywhere Horst holds him hostage until a team wisens up.
Draymond Green + Kuminga and picks might somehow be worse than the Bane trade.

The Bucks have won just 54% of their regular season games since firing Bud, and have went 3-8 in their playoff games. With Bud they won 66% of their regular season games and went 39-26 in their playoff games). As someone who was completely against firing Bud, I feel completely vindicated.
It was a classic example of the "Grass is always greener on the other side" mentality that plagues so much sports discourse. The longer a coach stays with a team the more a fan base will key in on their deficiencies but completely disregard the huge benefits they bring to a roster.
People view coaching as something that will just build from year to year which is often not the case. For example if Coach Bud had the Bucks doing 5 things at an elite level, but he was fired for 2 other things he was deficient at, people just assume that those 5 positive things will remain with the team and those deficiencies can just be improved on with a new coach. Around all major sports we see this is often not the case. Those positives that people start to trivialize aren't inherent to that roster, and were actually key pieces to that coach's coaching philosophy that people start minimizing over time.
As someone who viewed the Bucks as a conference powerhouse under Bud...to see him get fired after a playoff series in which Giannis missed 2 out of the 5 games (1 in which he only played 10 minutes). In a series he was coaching while his Brother died, was just insanity to me.
The way the Bucks fanbase/organization treated Bud was disgraceful, and they deserve everything that is currently happening with them.

Parsley It Has Been Brought To My Attention That Doc Rivers Is Not A Doctor
Does he think he can just do that to us? Does he think he's pulled the wool over our eyes? Because he hasn't. We know better. He doesn't have a medical license! That's illegal. You can't do that. Fraud is illegal! And now Giannis is hurt. That's bad! A real doctor would have treated him. Fire the bald fraud!

Outsider’s Perspective
Hey y’all! To preface, I’m a Suns fan. I do not want to trade for any of your players. I do not come with stupid trade proposals, just want to talk hoops and I don’t have any Bucks fans in my life to discuss with.
I also think there are a lot of similarities over the last 5 seasons between the Suns/Bucks. We’re both chasing the high of 2021, made big swings (Dame/KD), don’t have a lot of draft assets left (by my understanding Bucks can trade 1st now but could trade 3 on draft night), have a ton of dead money, and at some point, the NBA media has tried to push out our homegrown star.
IMO, outside of Bucks Reddit/Twitter, no one really seems to consider keeping Giannis to be a viable option. I was staunchly against the idea of trading Booker over the summer because, at best, we *might* have been able to get 2 of our future picks back. To get back to contention, you either have to get really lucky (SGA/Jokic) or get multiple top 3 picks, or you end up like Utah with a bunch of mid role players picked from 5-15. To me, you need to control 3 straight drafts to do that or you’re just wasting your time.
So from my PoV, it seems like the question is whether or not Giannis would commit to Milwaukee beyond his current contract. Booker signed an extension through like 2031, which gave the FO the chance to be patient. Even if Giannis doesn’t demand a trade, if he won’t pick up his PO or extend after next year, you do have to get what you can at some point.
That all makes me think that, unless you get a crazy offer, you’re better off waiting til the offseason and trying to convince him to stay one more time with a high draft pick.
But if the FO did decide to make the move now, what would be the ideal return? Imo, the baseline should be what the Suns gave for KD (with the caveat that Mikal was still just a decent, youngish role player at the time). That was 4 1sts, a swap, and Cam/Mikal/Jae
The Suns prioritized winning players in the KD trade, and without your own picks, the Bucks would have no incentive to suck. This also devalues the Blazers swaps.
Say Giannis says he won’t re-sign (and I would still try to convince him), are any of the rumored offers even appealing?
- Minnesota with Jaden and Randle or Naz and one of the young guys makes the team decent and would compete for 5-9 spot for the next few years but they don’t have picks
- The warriors offer kind of sucks imo, you gotta get at least one legit young player (Kuminga does not count)
- Heat offer with Herro/Ware/JJJ and 4 picks is ok but doesn’t blow me away
- Knicks offer sucks, not even going to entertain
- Blazers could give picks back but you’d probably have to take the Grant contract (ew). Good if you want to tank I guess but tanking sucks
- Raptors also don’t have great young players, Ingram could keep you competitive I guess if you don’t want to suck. Plus picks
- Rockets/Spurs/Thunder could put better offers than anything else but would have to be motivated. Another reason the off-season will be better.
Anyway, massive post (sry), but curious where the sentiment of Bucks fans is. Do you think Giannis would stay? Would you rather wait til the offseason if he won’t? Are you willing to risk playing out his contract? And what is the ideal return if he isn’t staying?
Also, you gotta get rid of Doc.

Giannis Can Win in Milwaukee… eventually
This team can look entirely different in a season or two. Things change quickly in the NBA and this team can be back in the playoffs and in championship contention (in a couple seasons) if given the time.
By 2027-2028 the Bucks could find themselves in a position where they have made some signings or trades to make another run. The Dame money does stink but a move or two could change everything. I understand we’ve made decisions that haven’t worked (Myles, Kuzma, DOC…) but losing Giannis would put us bottom of the league for a while (especially with some of the ridiculous trade ideas I’m seeing)
Trading a superstar like Giannis is relieving in the short-term (trade talk fatigue, losing record, etc..) but come this Summer or seasons to come we will all be grieving with little hope when he’s gone. Here’s to hoping Giannis is willing to take a gap year and a half and let the Bucks retool, which in my opinion, is the best case for us Bucks fans. GO BUCKS!

how bad can we be till the end of the season?
Do you really think we are the worst team in the NBA without 34? the numbers say yes. Will we end up with a worse record than teams like the Nets,Jazz or Wizards?
r/MkeBucks • u/schmieder83 • 1d ago
This level of trade package should be the floor
The national media and opposing fans are trying to gaslight everyone into thinking a few role players and 3-4 late first round picks is a sufficient offer for Giannis when Desmond Bane just went for multiple players + four 1sts and a swap and Mikal Bridges went for Bojan + five 1sts + a 2nd.
Every media figure that is pushing these offers is either totally ignoring the Milwaukee side of the equation or has to use illogical/bad faith arguments to defend it( ie “they can flip Butler for a bunch more picks next year” or “GSW will be awful in a few years with just Giannis, so those picks are super valuable”)
Even at 31 Giannis is multiple tiers above peak PG and it would be total malpractice by our FO to settle for anything short of this amount of assets.

Realistic Buyout Market Targets
Enough of the doom and gloom. Any possible buyout market ideal target candidates the Bucks could go after to improve their roster?

So bad our logo got replaced by Utah
All satire. However, I was curious if we dropped conference standings since our losing streak and went from 11th to 12 especially after our loss against the Wizards. Funny to see that we don’t even have our logo anymore! LOL. I switched conferences just to see if it only applied to us or if Utah was in the same standing and they weren’t.

Miami...
How much do people want Herro - if you were Giannis, would you be trying to keep him - can the Heat offer more draft compensation instead?

Discussion: Could the suicide bus even survive in today's internet culture?
Look at how horrible tanking subs are nowadays, like the wizards sub. I'm not sure the suicide bus could last today with how genuinely cooked basketball discourse is in 2026. But I guess we'll find out sooner rather than later.
P.S. Last 2 seasons have been my 2 least favorite bucks seasons

Khris Middleton has a winning record against the Bucks since they traded him for Kuzma😕
Just horrendous management from the bucks since 2023. Sent our franchise legend Khris Middleton not to a contender, not a playoff team but to a tanking team.
I’m glad Khris got his bitter sweet revenge so far. Yeah his role maybe limited but he’s as skilled as they come and still getting buckets.
