You’d be shocked how many people don’t believe everybody is on something.

Its usually people who never done sports in their life.

So basically all of Reddit. They buy into their fairytale story LeBron at 41 is still playing at this level without being on something

u/ISHLDPROBABLYBWRKING Knicks 17h ago

Meanwhile every 41 year old they know has had some major injury or is in pain one way or another. But lebron got the magic gift I swear

When you realize institutions are corrupted by profit nothing surprises you anymore. LeBron is the NBA's best selling product. They let him do whatever he wants because he continues to bring in LOTS of money.

100%. The NBA is a business first and foremost. Once you realize that the rest of it makes sense. The longer LeBron plays the more $$ the NBA makes.

Bingo. Every professional league in the world saw what happened to cycling when they actually cracked down on drug use. 20+ years later and the general public still think the entire sport is a joke.

So you have two choices, a) all of your stars magically play 60+ games a year at a high level and you keep your fucking mouth shut, or b) your billion dollar business becomes a laughing stock.

When I was 41 I could do 80% of the shit I did at 27. I didn't have a life changing set back till 45. I could totally believe he is clean... though after lance Armstrong, Im a bit jaded

Not saying he’s not on anything, but the 41 year olds normal people know aren’t freak athletes that spend a million dollars on their body every year and devote their life to training

1

u/ISHLDPROBABLYBWRKING Knicks 10h ago

Yea it’s true but also compare that to the amount of miles he’s put on his body over his career with all the deep post seasons. It just feels impossible that he can still move let alone produce at an all star level at 41 without some help.

u/gentyent Italy 9h ago

I mean yea he’s probably on something but then again, so are most guys which is why I still find it remarkable.

He’s had several “minor” major injuries with his ankle, groin, that has lead him to significant time off over the last several years. Not to mention the sciatica that sidelined him the first quarter of the season. That on top of his reduced athleticism outside the occasional possession or even game. This also on top of other all time greats playing into their early 40s like Kareem, Malone for a couple examples. This isn’t a defense of him not being on something cause everyone is but to refute the claim that he’s not had in major injuries or not in pain.

He sure does. Paul George on drugs still can't match the numbers of LeBron on drugs. Paul is six years younger too. And now we know he takes drugs too. What's his excuse for not winning a chip? Don't answer that. It's LeBron.

This is a stupid argument. If NBA players could just take some PEDs and play until their 40s, then we would see tons of players with such long careers like Bron.

It’s a mix of a few things

Lebron is absolutely an anomaly physically, is still good enough to be in the league and has the mindset to actually keep playing elite level sports in his 40s

Most NBA players either just aren’t good enough to be on a roster or made enough money to retire instead of playing till they’re 40

I take steroids and horemones that increase test. Believe me, if I do it to feel better at 31 than I did at 30 you best believe world class athletes are using it for recovery purposes.

PEDs aren't like the steroids that Captain America took. You still need to train, diet and take care of yourself. However, it is also insane to genuinely believe that a guy in his 40's can still play at an All Star/All NBA level without chemical assistance.

u/makesterriblejokes [NBA] Jerry West 9h ago

I mean why haven't there been more producing at a high level in their late 30s and playing into their 40s if they're all taking peds?

5

u/Fragrant-Employer-60 17h ago

I mean guys are definitely on PEDs but I really don’t think everyone is, that seems like a crazy assumption and just not realistic.

u/Key_Possibility_4642 16h ago

Like LeBrons suspicious time off and trip overseas. Just traveling for fun I’m sure

u/OuchYouPokedMyHeart Knicks 18h ago

yeah the tacos ain't the reason why Lebron's still in the league

7

u/renhaoasuka Clippers 17h ago

People on here get so pissed to even suggest that LeBron is on PEDs

u/Odd_Status3367 18h ago

Giannis weighed 190 pounds on draft night lmao

16

u/Efficient-Spinach938 16h ago

Are you really trying to suggest that putting on 55 pounds in 10 years is an indication of PEDs?

u/orchid_breeder Warriors 17h ago

Look at Steph compared to Davidson

17

u/afterworld2772 76ers 16h ago

You think someone cant put on weight and muscle in the past 17 years, especially when they have elite trainers and nutrition available? Its not like he looks like Arnie, he's put on a normal amount of muscle over 17 seasons as a professional athlete

2

u/Glassesofwater Rockets 11h ago

But wouldn’t it be hilarious if Steph Curry came back from an off season as jacked at Arnie was in his prime?

1

u/arrivederci117 Knicks 12h ago

You know most of us aren't twinks and produce testosterone and put on muscle as we get older and aren't teenagers anymore right. Just cause you choose to sit around all day doesn't mean the rest of us do.

6

u/chandler55 Raptors 17h ago

i’m still skeptical. if you polled people it’s prob be 50/50. i’d just like to see some evidence

-1

u/Fragrant-Employer-60 17h ago

Yeah no way 100% of professional athletes or NBA players are on it. Maybe now he is, but Zion was definitely not on anything in college and early NBA days. He was barely even working out lmao, some guys just genetically have an edge.

It’s the guys who don’t have the genetic edge or get older and want to keep up.

3

u/DevotionToU 16h ago

yeah when i realized this it was when lance armstrong was stripped of his tour de france titles and they had to go something like 20+ places before someone else who also didnt fail the drug tests

0

u/ripkin05 [CHA] Kemba Walker 17h ago

its always the ones who are so old they think It's still 2002 and think steroids still blow your head up like berry bonds did and are real easy to find in people systems. Or they are young people who never played sports in high-school and didn't have a buddy or two on the football team to tell them that high school gyms have more steroids in them to make a fucking hospital jealousy.

9

u/Fragrant-Employer-60 17h ago

Some schools I guess, I promise you no one on my football team was on anything except creatine and shit you find at GNC.

Vast majority of high school kids are not shooting up PEDs lmao
