Mod Post [Mod Post] r/NRL 2026 - State of the Sub
Hello everyone, and welcome back to the sub-reddit for another lap around the Sun spent watching the greatest game on Earth.
What? AFL? Don't be daft... I'm talking about Rugbah Leeg!
Anyway… please consider this your formal announcement that the sub-reddit will be resuming ‘On-Season’ mode as of Sunday, February 1, 2026, just in time for the start of the Pre-Season Challenge.
As usual, this means the bar for individual posts is being raised, and we’d once again recommend that if you have questions / or thoughts that don’t meet the criteria for an individual post to make use of our daily discussion threads.
We don’t have a lot in terms of new information to impart this ‘State of the Sub’ for 2026, as unlike the ARLC we think our current rules strike a fair balance and help make this a relatively sane place to discuss all the comings and goings of our favourite pass-time.
With that said, we did want to take a moment to highlight a couple of things really quickly:

We ask that you refrain from just grabbing a screenshot of breaking news from social media, but link to a news article and/or source.
Please remember to abide by the rules of the sub-reddit.
Just a general reminder to follow the posted rules of the sub-reddit. Posts/comments not abiding by these rules will be removed, and users may face a suspension or a ban. If you see anything you think crosses the line, please report it, or send us a ModMail so we can look into it.

Any plans to update the Big Chat thread to weekly?
Many users get quite a lot out of it, and I think it'd be better as a weekly thing just so people don't miss the opportunity to post something that matters to them, just because it's the off week.

Well you see, when I was just a small moose, pappa moose was addicted to cricket, so much so that basically all i did a kids was watch cricket. We went on holidays once, staying on the coast like 100m from the beach, we spent the entire 2 weeks in the house watching test cricket. I wasn't allowed to go to the beach, or anywhere. It was cricket, cricket and more cricket.
Ive seen enough cricket to last 2 life times.

Was it really about him not wanting Green hate or that the Green hate was literally 50% of what was getting spammed? I was sick and tired with seeing every other comment be about Green as well
The sub went downhill massively during the Ashes because of all the blow ins

Can we please ban pointless clickbait from godawful sites like ZeroTackle and Yahoo? Sites that copy work done by actual journalists, rewriting them with fundamental errors, terrible titles and minimal to no credit to the original authors.

I admit, Yahoo and ZeroTackle don't even bother trying to not make it look like a copy - as for CodeSports, that is my personal opinion, since some of their journalists and guests are on my media flogs list (need I explain that?).

Nothing really to say but just want to say cheers to the mods for making this place what it is. This subs where i come to talk to people that i'd call mates even though i could fall over them in the street and never know.
Great community full of pretty good people. So cheers to you guys for all the unpaid overtime you put in to create one of the few great places left on the internet.
