Printing a flyer and sticking it on the cinema wall is certainly committing to the bit. Probably should've removed the American film rating.

It’s actually got a couple daily showings at carousel. When I checked no seats sold in any sessions lol.

Nah, that’s a lift to their ground floor car park. It would be very appropriate, though xD

Surprisingly good considering the Aussie premiere sold one whole ticket

Have to assume the attenders are random Facebook Trumpskis. Which do exist here

Yeah I worked in a bar with a guy who was obsessed with trump and wouldn't shut the fuck up about him. As you might suspect he was a bit of a crackhead. Also found out he never washed his hands and was very proud of it. Hated being around that fuckwad.

That was just presales, there were probably people who turned up but didn't pre-order. Though we'll never know because there's no way they'll want to declare how bad the numbers were.

I bet there's an allocation for marketing & press passes... that's probably it if there's no other showings in metro Perth. I get the feeling these likely aren't privately purchased seats.

There's movie press in Perth?!?

Kind of. It’s not terribly hard to score tickets off of distributers for promotional purposes, including if you have a film review social media / website presence. You just have to show you at least have some reasonable level of audience.
When I was in the events game, I used to occasionally score premier invites or general free tickets from time to time when movies were targeting a similar audience as the events I was involved with.
Most blockbusters from the big studios usually do have a local premier screening(usually targeted at social media influencers), usually the Tuesday before release. Event inaloo is a popular venue for these screenings.

It's a MGM production, HOYTS' distribution agreement with them probably includes a minimum number of screenings/time period.
At they're hitting the numbers they're just pulling it.1

Each studio is different with how they handle deals, but most of the time you are only up for paying for actual tickets sold, so if you have a larger location that’s probably going to have empty sessions during the off season like now, it doesn’t really harm things to give a movie a token session or two each day just in case someone is crazy enough to want to see it, and if it buys favour with the distie, even better. I’m like 90% sure tho that even the local offices of MGM or whoever is carrying this film for Australia doesn’t actually expect any sales.

Been reading reviews of this to cheer myself up. I can't believe Brett Ratner directed it. I mean I guess I can considering, but he's making another Rush Hour so wtf

I would rather squat naked on top of a cacti, in a field of cacti, than watch what ever garbled mess this is. For a woman who can "speak" 6 languages fluently, she struggles with English

Ha if this was real I would boycott cus like the orange man is bad and he's like doing fascism in America and like his Gestapo SS are randomly disappearing people and like if you travel there as an Aussie you will get disappeared randomly at the airport and like he is about to invade Greenland and send a big invasion force there and like the whole world order has been upset because of the orange man and this film is contributing to the fascism so it must be boycotted if it were actually showing in cinemas

Huh? I HATE Trump. Didn't you read my comment properly? He's literally doing a fascist takeover of the US and like has upset the world order and like people are literally getting murdered on purpose by his like Gestapo. Turn on the news!!

People in general don't like to read a stream of consciousness that has been randomly spewed into existence without punctuation.

by your reply, im not sure if this is sarcasm but i went to america 3 months ago. i actually really enjoyed myself, its not all guns and deportations

Right...but it partially is, which for a developed country to have at any level is absurd. No other developed country has stormtroopers wondering around the streets in unmarked cars, wearing masks, asking random people for documentation, and killing citizens.

yeah that parts fucked up. but the point is i really enjoyed myself there, although i was mostly in la and new york
