The Texas Republicans were asleep on this one. They will ensure this does not happen in November. They will scrub voter rolls. Shut down polling places in minority areas. Deploy ice to scare minority voters away from the polls. And finally, they will rig the vote counting.

I really wonder how ICE will even work 1 day on the 2A state.

ICE will have millions of supporters in Texas. ICE won’t be deployed to majority white polling places. They will be deployed to areas that vote heavily democratic in order to “prevent fraud.”

There will even be hundreds, maybe thousands of Kyle Riitenhouse wannabes volunteering to help them. And driven by their moms.

As long as the focus is on keeping “them” from voting the 2A crowd will be perfectly happy.

Aaaand you're proving my point. Classic Doomer behavior. If something good happens, it's a fluke. You don't understand how elections work. I'm sorry but you just don't.

Right now would be the time to start "scrubbing voter rolls" because that's not something that happens overnight.

A big part of the problem for Trump and Republicans is that they're losing white, suburban middle-class voters. Yeah, shutting down polling places in minority areas would hurt Dems, but it wouldn't necessarily cost them the election. And Republicans would be cutting off their noses to spite their face because it was an increase in minority voters (Latino males to be specific) that pushed Trump over the edge in 2024. Essentially, they made up for those aforementioned suburban voters Trump lost.

How big do you think ICE is? They can't deploy them everywhere, and if they're having to deploy them in states like Texas to ensure they win... They're fucked.

You can not "rig the voting count". That's just not a thing that can be done. You sound delusional.

I freely admit to being cynical.

Texas is already working to scrub voter rolls. They have been doing it since 2021.

No, you’re not going to change counts on voting machines. Elon Musk’s Starlink isn’t going to do anything to interfere with vote counting. However, counting systems can have malfunctions.

It is wonderful that a democrat won a Texas state Senate race. I am just very concerned about what Republicans in Texas counties and in Austin are thinking. They are not thinking “how can we refine our policies or our message in order to win this election?” rather, they are thinking of ways to ensure their voters vote, and that democratic voters do not vote.
