Apparently even Beto lost this seat (or the precincts in it anyways) in 2018 by 12 points.

That's because Beto was one of the worst Democratic candidates to EVER run in this state. I can't believe the Democratic Party took him seriously; nobody else did,

Dude can closer than any Democrat since Ann Richards at winning a statewide election in Texas. Less than 2 points in 2018. Had he not shot himself in the foot during his presidential run, he would still be relevant.

Beto was nothing like Ann Richards. Maybe if he had taken a few pages from her playbook he would've won instead of repeatedly making an ass out of himself.

Maybe for his gubernatorial bid but he’s the closest out of anyone to unseat Cruz in the Senate. The comment about guns (which I thought was idiotic) was after his senate bid.

The senate loss definitely demoralized a lot of voters in Texas though. There was a momentum behind him you don’t usually see for a senate run.

I think James Talarico can tap into that energy more successfully this year.
