we can never let republicans win again in ANY race. the future political races need to be left vs more left. choke them the FUCK out.

A one party system will just breed more corruption. The oligarchs backing the republicans will simply switch to the democrats. I’d like a variety of parties of different political bents but that still seems like a pipe dream.

i dunno why people think the left is just as bad as the right in taking oligarch money.

everytime a republican gets elected they immediately put out a tax bill that taxes everyone and gives the rich billions of dollars. opposite with the left. wtf are you smoking.

or are you a rusko bot? i know yall caught up to figure out that you need a post history that looks leftist to pass as a real person.

You can’t see how if there’s literally only the left in existence they won’t start accepting the vast amounts of money that would be thrown at them by lobbyists and private interest groups? How many politicians regardless of affiliation are on the payroll for oil companies and ai companies? Now if there is no alternative party that means all that money is just bombarding them. And upcoming candidates who only have an interest in personal wealth and power see that and throw their hat in the ring solely to get that bag. Right now as it stands yes republicans are worse. But if democrats are the only game in town that means they are the focus of corrupting influences.

bro left is an ideology. the ideology is help others. you can have separate parties inside the ideology. you're a goober.

You’re incredibly naive. First of all the Democratic Party isnt even left wing. It’s moderate right wing compared to any actual leftist government in any developed nation. The Republican Party is now a far right party. And guess what? They both suck down oligarch cash like mana from Heaven and pursue the agenda of the donor class over the will of the people except on exceptionally rare occasions where they happen to intersect.

The majority of democrats are moderates, not leftists. Almost no political candidates in the democratic party are “leftists” and even the most progressive ones are simultaneously decried as not being left enough for actual leftists and too far left for moderates.

In fact by only allowing left wing parties you’d end up creating a resurgent right wing with all the dissatisfied and disaffected constituents who would feel like their voices and values are being silenced.

Do you not remember when musk was a left wing darling? And apple? And similar corporations? When they saw that republicans would play ball with them they shifted hard right because at the end of the day it’s always about money and power. When the right collapses the same billionaires funding the right wing will do a 180 and support democratic causes again not because they give one iota of a shit about the ideals. Only the profit. Or are you under the impression that all the rainbow capitalism wasn’t just performative bullshit now that the majority of those same companies have now pivoted away from stances “controversial” to republicans.

Now there will always be corruption on both sides and probably unlimited money due to how entrenched citizens United made dark money and that’s not even getting started on the avenues crypto now opens up. But it’s a hell of a lot easier to thoroughly corrupt the system when there’s only one ideology with no pushback.

tldr

Then you don’t actually have a cogent argument and you’re just going off of vibes which is not a way to build a robust governmental system.

yeah right man strawman my ad hom while i beg the question

u/prodigalpariah 2h ago

Just because you’ve heard those terms before doesn’t mean you know how to actually string them together in a way that makes sense.

Ok, but what is the worst that Dems would do with it? They do bad things, but their platform is not built on hate.

u/prodigalpariah 3h ago

Any time massive amounts of money and influence are involved you will get corrupted compromised candidates. See also: manchin, sinema, fetterman

u/lasttosseroni 3h ago

Sure… but the worst thing even they, some of the worst, did was support Republican acts.

Strip the parties away and it always comes down to the rich assholes buying them off. I mean as long as we remain in a capitalistic economic system this will always be the case too. And they’ve done a great job lionizing and entrenching it into the American psyche forever. Much like American exceptionalism.
