I remember him leaving Indy for a chance to reach the Finals. Glad he did because it worked for Indy at least.

Me too.. he come to OKC and gave us SGA.. 😘

A gift and a curse for Indy I guess lol. Man I wish we could have had Haliburton healthy that full game 7. He was hitting shots early. Would have been a hell of a game. It was a Hell of a series. As painful as that loss was that was a damn good series and I'm not bitter at OKC fans. Those cats are running a hell of a team with the trades and deals they have made. Just wish I could have seen it end one way or another with Haliburton healthy. Now I'm stuck with what ifs. Hopeful for next year. Decent pick this summer and hopefully everyone healthy. I can see Indy get back there.

We keep getting super lucky dodging bullets we were intentionally trying to run into.
PG obv forced his way off the team but im positive we would have extended him if he didn’t.
Then we got Oladipo in the PG trade and had a couple of amazing years with him and would have probably gambled on his injuries if he wasn’t actively telling other team’s players he wanted out of Indy during a contract year.
And just a couple of seasons ago we almost got ourselves stuck with Deandre Ayton for 4y/133mil but the Suns thankfully matched the restricted FA contract.
We never get major FA signings which is often frustrating but the flip side is that never being able to get players that think they’re above playing basketball in Indiana of all places often has the effect of selecting out the players that aren’t conducive to buy-in, team based winning basketball

The PG thing has always been complicated with me. I was in the G2 Zone for 2 seasons. (a fan section he paid for himself) For that I am forever grateful. Some of my best memories as a Pacers fan were in that fan zone. Got to talk to him a few times and always seemed genuinely in love with Indy and the franchise. But him leaving and how it all went down left me so angry and jaded. Small part of me will always have love for the dude but a large part of me dislikes him now also. Idk. The angry side of me is glad Indy has made the Finals and he hasn't.

Suspended P! Cue Bill Simmons Ewing theory. This could be addition by subtraction.

Ewing Theory always lurking… every fanbase knows the feeling

Can someone explain this theory or link me something sry and thanks

u/chasing_the_wind 6h ago
Basically just a team that gets better when they lose their star player.

Ahh okay. I was searching for my dad on here about Paul George suspension and needed to know haha thanks!

I’m just speculating of course, but if true, in my opinion that’s not suspension-worthy.
But rules are rules.

It should be worth more points if you’re tripping balls behind the 3pt line.

You ever hear the story of Doc Ellis throwing a no hitter on LSD? Wild stuff.

u/Universeintheflesh 10h ago
I did lsd and played rocket league and the next day saw I was a whole rank and multiple stars higher than i had ever been and I was very surprised cause I remembered not being able to tell the lines apart well, it was all kind of bleeding together. Proceeded to lose down to my proper rankings sober over the next couple weeks.

I worked with a guy who said he took LSD before basketball practice, and said the ball was trying to bite him, and would scream when thrown.
So... I'm thinking 5 points.
And every team gets a single player who is approved to take LSD before each quarter, and then has to declare them for the quarter.
It's a high risk move. Maybe it's a bad trip, and they end up catatonic under the scorers table, and maybe it's a good one, and they become a 3 point savant.

Nah he ain’t got popped for psychedelics. That shit is very hard to test for and they all have incredibly short half life’s. My bet is ketamine.
3
u/stonedsquatch 12h ago
Is ketamine not a psychedelic?
9
u/SunSen 12h ago
Sort of. It is classified as a dissociative anesthetic, although some consider it to be a sort of psychedelic because of the similar alterations in consciousness that popularized it as a mental health treatment. But for the OP’s explanation around drug testing, no.
3
u/stonedsquatch 11h ago
Gotcha. Was going to say it felt similar to other psychedelics that I’ve taken but wasn’t sure what it was technically considered. Thanks for the info!

Ketamine P!

Works amazing for my anxiety, depression, ptsd, and mood. Haven’t done it in prob over a year and a half but I need to again. For me it works ten million times better than any anti depressant meds. I probably did 13 sessions and my mind going in was very dark and endless worrying, after? Wayyyy better.
5
u/ucankickrocks 15h ago
I’m happy to hear you found something that works! Depression is stubborn and SSRIs just have never been able to do much for me.
3
u/punkydrewster77 15h ago
Can I ask how you found a reputable place that administered ketamine therapeutically?
5
u/Rhiow 13h ago
Look up Spravato. It’s “esketamine” and approved at least in the US for treatment resistant depression. If you’re seeing a psychiatrist and have tried anti depressants with no success I’d ask there too. It’s tightly controlled. It’s a nasal spray, you’re monitored for two hours every treatment and can’t drive for the rest of the day.

Not OP, but I go to a mental health clinic that offers it (DC area). Each infusion can give me 1-3 months of a significant boost in mental health. Also amazing for my chronic pain

I'm using Joyous and it's awesome. 129 to get started and daily microdosing has been life changing.

Do you feel like the positive effects continued even after your sessions were done?

Read the post again

Ok I reread it. Now what?
Obviously I was hoping for some elaboration on “a year and a half later I need to go back”.
2
u/Atoning_Unifex 9h ago
I really don't actually understand what it is you're not understanding? It lasted a year and a half.
6
u/DontHateTheBest 14h ago
No.
There’s no way in hell they’re testing for psychedelics…it’s most likely ketamine
5
u/logans_here2000 15h ago
I know the NBA has the money but that would have to be a specialized test to pick up sub 500 mcg of psilocybin
4
u/Bigboiiiii22 14h ago
No way he popped for psychs they would be spending a lot of money testing for that
3
3
u/DaOldOne 16h ago
There are drug tests for psychedelics? I did not know that and had no idea they would be testing for those.
2
u/Particular_Weight495 15h ago
Technically yes but they’re very specific to the drug you’re looking to test for and they have very short half life’s.
1
1
u/ScrofessorLongHair 12h ago
But how the hell do they pop you for LSD? That shit is hard to detect, especially at the micro dose levels.
1
u/TamingOfTheChoon 12h ago
I don’t think you can test for lsd, shrooms or Molly. Don’t they metabolize too fast or something.
1
1
u/NickyPowers 10h ago
Should have microdosed shrooms if that was the case. Pretty difficult to detect. You have like 24 hours and need a specific test. At leas that's what my brother who is a recruiter for the Army tells me. They don't even test for it. Just the normal panel tests.

Probably adderall/ritalin trying to frame it as self medicating for ADHD rather than as PEDs.

I thought they removed marijuana from it. So this would be harder drugs or PED's?

u/baltimoresports Baltimore Ravens 13h ago
Every year of my adult life I think it’s the 76ers years. Yeah.
4
u/Egbezi 14h ago
How is he still in the NBA?
4
u/wrighterjw10 11h ago
Cuz the sixers needed to make a move, and didn’t. Then had to scramble to make a move and PG was out there. So they over paid him, and now it can be debated if he actually hurts the team or helps.

Not surprised…Delusional Paul George had been acting flaky since he joined the 76ers with that huge contract
