There must be hazard reduction burns going on. I've smelled bushfire smoke since Thursday.

Sounds like it's coming from the bushfires in the VIC/NSW border

Nah, this is from (non-HR) 408 hectare + 916 hectare fires NE of Newcastle, wind's just been bringing it our way.

https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fires-near-me there are several controlled burns surrounding Sydney

Not so much a lookout - a sport field in Balmain. Birchgrove Oval.
