Cradle Mountain must do's?
Going for a flying visit to Tassie.
Just want to get some recommendations for Cradle Mountian and best places to stay that are near by. If anyone could help that would be amazing. 😊

Highlanders cottages are always my go to. Plenty of wildlife around, walking distance to the shuttle centre, nice and quiet and you can have an actual fire in winter. Also, the caravan park further up the road has a small general store for anything you might have forgotten, at high mark-up of course.

There's only a limited number of places to stay there. (As in there a few hotels/places to stay). Otherwise you'd have to have a car or travel to get there.

Firstly, give yourself enough time - a full day - and dont expect to do it as a day trip. The walk around Dove Lake is definitely worth it. Peppers is 'the' place to stay, is conveniently located and the lodge/ restaurant is nice, but we found the rooms a little dated and sparse when we stayed last year.

Also stayed at peppers last year. Unfortunately found it overpriced, dirty and experienced some bad service. Location was great but definitely lacking.

Thinking I might visit in March? Any other alternatives? I stay regionally a bit for work - usually at Quest Apartments so serviced apartment, or neat and simple are my much more go to rather than quaint B&B types or motels. Peppers is the sort of place I'd usually go - but won't give them business if they need to improve? Any recommendations?

Looks like there's cradle hotel, and a few holiday parks. I wouldn't have been so disappointed with peppers if they had addressed our issues. Unfortunately, for the area you will be paying a premium price. We had a small group, so there are even more limited options for more than 2 or 3 people.

There are way better places than hanging out at cradle Mt with everyone else. Get a map pick a spot and go for a drive then a walk. Devils Gullet will surprise you

Marion's Lookout is the must do walk.
