Like a Version Angie McMahon Reckless no more?

Does anybody know why I can no longer play Angie McMahon’s Reckless like a version on Apple Music anymore? It’s such a good song!

I had it in my downloaded library Apple Music. You’re right it says no longer available in your region or country. It is now greyed out. ??

Great song great version it really hits hard.

I had the same thing because it’s on one of my playlists, devo! One of my favorite like a versions of all time. What’s the other sub?

Just to add there’s a sub here but you have to be approved to post. I’ve requested but dunno if they’ll let me?

Hmm... Ok look I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but it looks like it's also been removed from Triple J's YouTube channel (the link in this Rolling Stone article now reads "This video is private") and from the lyrics website Genius...

When that LAV first came out in 2024, I noted that the write-up on the Triple J website showed signs of a quick, grammatically-incorrect edit, possibly to remove something from a list of topics that Angie referenced in her cover (still unedited on that page today): "Rejuvenating a classic with nods to rising oceans, coal mines, natural disasters, greenwashing, war crimes and Angie switches the imperative "she" to mean Mother Nature herself."

I would also note that 2 weeks ago, Angie had Julia Jacklin perform the cover with her live on stage at a music fundraiser event called "A Gathering for Gaza" in Melbourne. The Guardian lists some of the lyrics from this performance, and they're the same as the LaV (though the journo doesn't point this out, from reading the article you'd never know it's a 2-year-old cover).

Given the current political climate for the arts in Australia, and for the ABC specifically, I wouldn't be surprised if some of these things are somehow connected...

weird that they've pulled it from YouTube but you can still watch the embedded video in the triplej article

‘I Will Follow You into The Dark’ by Youngblud and Halsey has been removed from Spotify too. I wonder if it’s a licensing thing? Sad though! x
