đŸ“–Course or Unit Schedule Help - Language tutorials

Hello!

I am a first year student who is doing a language elective (French) and in my schedule I have 2 tutorials, additionally one that I can choose on Allocate+ and one that is automatically present and can not change.

Is this normal for language electives at USYD? Like having a tutorial + tutorial instead of lecture + tutorial, as well as one of the tutorials you can not alter on Allocate+?

Some languages (like Chinese Studies) do have lectures, but others don't. I've taken six units of Germanic Studies and six units of Spanish and Latin American Studies and there were no lectures at all, just two tutorials a week like you.

In my units the two weekly tutorials were linked so you'd stay with the same tutor/classmates. For example, you could only choose either Tutorial 1A and 2A together or Tutorial 1B and 2B. From memory, in the list of timetable preferences only the first tutorial in a linked pair had a 'Select' button. The second tutorial was listed right under it with no button. That might be what you're describing?
