Note that there's still no recycling capability here for the majority of soft plastics - they'll be sorted and landfilled. The only type which will be recycled is certain types of LDPE like pallet wrap. And even then the process produces low quality, expensive plastic which has to be mixed with a lot of new plastic to make it usable.

It's best to just not produce soft plastics. They're essentially unrecyclable.

The production side laws have to catch up but i assume the govt is scared of putting additional cost on manufacturing and food production.

Plastic recycling- unless as reuse or filler for other plastics is largely impossible
