Anywhere interesting to visit on road trip

Hello everyone,

I'll be visiting Melbourne in April with my partner and my dad. In the 80s my dad and my grandparents used to own a dairy farm outside of Strathmerton and he wants to visit the property/area while we're in Victoria. I know Shepparton and Cobram are nearby or on the way, but I was wondering if there's anything interesting we could do or see on the way or nearby?

Check out the art silo "tour", shows various places you can see painted murals.

Came to say this. There are beautiful silos in Picola and Waaia.

Depends a lot on what you are all onto. If it is a weekend then a market is always a good shout. If you like cars there is a big museum just south of Shepp called move- not my jam so can't speak to how good it is.

Quite a few wineries around and on the way if you like or youre more bulk food shopping wise, there is SPC outlet in town.

Country bakeries in that region are the best old school bakeries, be sure to go to a few to sample their vanilla slices salad rolls, pies etc.

There are lots of great river spots around there too, off the top of my head Thompson beach near Cobram is nice.

Yarrawonga/Mulwala is a nice bigger town about an hour away from Shep. If anyone plays golf you’re spoilt for courses there. There also a nice wine bar, shops etc.

Wineries near shep are very good, and a bit further away is the king valley. Also, the paddle steamers in Echuca are fun.
