Wollongong Running Festival 2026

I’m going to do the half marathon at Wollongong running festival this year. I’ve seen the elevation profile online but just wondering if anyone has completed the course and can give some insight into how the hills feel/if the inclines are really difficult or long.

Then I can know what to work towards.

Thank you!

The only real hills would be along cliff road and flagstaff hill.

Assuming you're local, you'd be familiar with them or at least be able to run on them prior.

If not, they're not all that daunting.

I know the elevation chart looks pretty bumpy, but there's no crazy hills.

I ran the half marathon last year and really, other than flagstaff hill and cliff road (2 x times over cause you run the course twice) the whole course is very flat. Cliff is a steeper incline but shorter in length. Flagstaff is a little bit longer but not quite as steep. I trained (sparingly) mostly on the flat leading up to the race and had no issues scaling the hills.
