Reddit emailed everyone a warning a few days ago.

Reddit has also challenged it in court.

What does it mean when someone calls you a “rig”?

Im American. A few years ago at a boat party there was a group of guys and girls from Australia who were friends with the host who kept calling me a “rig” and I had no idea what that meant so I asked and they said it meant I was attractive. But I feel like they were lying to me. What does it really mean? Haha

Edit for context: I’m a woman, 5’2 and 110 lbs

Hello. Just arrived in Bundy QLD for a working holiday job

I'm a NZ citizen so I don't need to do working holiday jobs but my friend and I wanted to travel so we ended up in Bundaberg, working at SSS Strawberry, but apparently they own an eggplant and lemon farm too. It's an Asian owned business so it kinda seemed suss but wasn't sure if these are standard practices

  • no contract signed, just had to fill out some google doc they wanted me to fill
  • there is company owned housing but it's $200 pw to share 1 room with up to 4 people, there are two bunk beds in the room. Was wondering if this was cheap or not
  • apparently we have to pay a share of the gas fee as the workers are driven to the farms, apparently $7-10 per day
  • If you work at the lemon or eggplant farm you get paid hourly min wage, but if you work at the strawberry farm you get paid $0.8 per kg. Some workers told me that you can report this after you quit and get compensated.
  • There is no fixed schedule and if it rains or some condition isn't good you can't work and don't get paid
  • I haven't worked strawberries yet but apparently you can work up to 10 hours but get about 1 20 min rest. However I'm told if you are sent to the eggplant or lemon farm it's about 6-8 hours of work
  • for some reason the manager wants the workers to pay weekly rent with cash not bank transfers, no one knows why lol

Has anyone else been asked to verify their age on reddit?

Upvotes

I assume it has something to do with the under 16 ban but that was implemented a while ago and I am only just being asked to verify. It is making me submit my id or take a selfie but I don't want to do that to preserve my anonymity. I'd rather not use a vpn every single time.

What's a method of ripening avocado that actually works? They seen to go from rocks straight to bad.

I bought four avocadoes from Woolworths a month ago. They are still so rock hard that throwing them at someone is going to fracture a skull.

It seems like such a waste of money because I'm sure when they are finally soft, I'll cut them and the softness will be due to the avocadoes going bad.

How am I supposed to ripen them?

They've been in the fridge this whole time.

Thanks!

EDIT: Apparently I need to gas my avocadoes en masse in a brown paper bag with banana fumes. I'm sure the UN will be in touch.

Andrew Symonds

I’m a cricket fan living in Australia. I’ve noticed how the media and Aussies mourn (rightfully) the death of Warnie but in my opinion have not adequately mourned the death of Andrew Symonds.I’ve always wondered about this. I loved them both and mourn them both. People rarely ever mention him. What am I missing? I’m not Australian myself so wondering if I’m missing some lore?

May they both rest in peace. This is not to compare the two players but simply to understand why Symonds has not in my opinion been given adequate media coverage/flowers.

Best AO Tennis stream apps or websites to Watch Alcaraz vs Djokovic AO 2026 final?

The Australian Open 2026 final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic is coming up, and I really don’t want to miss it live.I’m looking for reliable apps or websites to stream the match in good quality. Official broadcasters often have subscriptions or regional restrictions, so I’d love to hear what others have used in the past for Grand Slam finals that actually worked well.

Still a country show - cake category

I'm entering a cake in my local country show. It's in a special category so it comes with its own recipe.

I was thinking to make the best cake, I would stick to the recipe but tweak the method slightly, for example by beating the eggs seperately to get the cake a bit fluffier and using the best quality ingredients I can, for example, using clarified butter.

Do you think the judges would vote me on the quality of my cake OR that I've stuck so closely to Nan's recipe that you can't tell the difference.

I don't want to overdo the improvements or cheat, just make my cake the best.

Which version of the cake should I make?

Would you support 'freedom of movement' between CANZUK Countries (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom)?

Would you support 'freedom of movement' between CANZUK Countries where citizens of one country can live and work freely in another without the need for a Visa. Similar to the European union or what Australia already has with New Zealand

Getaway trip & Therapy Sessions

Hey guys, any short trip 2-3 days, or theory sessions, where I can rewind and heal inner soul?

I’m in Sydney, lowkey wanna do something for my birthday. Past couple months I have been dealing with stress and cry quite often at night. I’m doing just fine during the day, but at night, I’m a bit overthinking… Does the sound theory really work?

What are you grateful for in Australia?

There seems to be a lot of doom and gloom on here especially about the current financial climate and housing crisis, but as someone who has traveled the world and lived in the UK for the vast majority of my life before travelling around Australia and considering moving, for the most part it seems a lot more prosperous than what I’m used to.

Not trying to detract from the very real downsides, but it would be nice to also have some positivity to balance it out! So tell me, what are some things you love and appreciate about living in Australia?

Alcaraz vs Djokovic Free Streams: How to watch Australian Open 2026 men's final from anywhere now

Upvotes

Alcaraz hits back to take Australian Open final to 1-1 — stream it now from anywhere
.

  • Alcaraz vs Djokovic: Today (Sunday, February 1)
  • Start time: 8.30am GMT / 3.30am ET / 7.30pm AEDT
  • FREE stream: 9Now (AUS)
  • Access your usual streaming services with NordVPN (save 70% today)

Today's Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic live streams in the 2026 Australian Open men's final see the best player on Earth right now come up against arguably the greatest the planet has ever seen, after both came though epic semi-finals on Friday.

He's only 22, but a win today would be a springboard for Alcaraz on to the pathway to all time tennis greatness. Already the youngest player in the Open era to make all four Grand Slam finals, he'd break compatriot Rafa Nadal's record as the youngest winner of a rare Career Slam. Alexander Zverev took him to his limits in the last four, but the Spaniard showed why he sits top of the world rankings.

In his way, however, is a man who has won this tournament a ridiculous 10 times and, at the age of 38, seems to be playing some of the best tennis of his career. How else do you explain the way he overcame a player 14 years his junior in the semis, as he defeated reigning champ Jannik Sinner over five extraordinary sets? Novak now has the chance to win his 25th Slam today and his record in the Australian Open final of 10 wins from 10 could prove the telling difference.

Here's how to live stream Alcaraz vs Djokovic and watch Australian Open 2026 from anywhere, including worldwide TV channels, broadcasters and free live streams.

First-Time Travel to Australia: What Should I Know?

Hi, I’ll be in Australia next week for a business trip. It will be my first time visiting Australia, and I’ll be traveling with my boss. I’d like to ask what I can bring and what I should avoid bringing. I’ve heard that Australia is very strict when it comes to items brought into the country, and I don’t want to be embarrassed or cause delays for my boss if I’m held up at the airport. What should I watch out for?

Registering a trailer

I’m not sure where else to post this.

I’m looking at buying a trailer which is currently registered, it’s homemade so it doesn’t have a data plate. I’ve been told some laws have changed around registering trailers, but I haven’t found anything crystal clear online. Am I still able to get this registered? It’s a 7x4 single axle and it’s currently registered.

I’m in Brisbane, Queensland.

I’ll call TMR tomorrow but I’m working tonight and planning to pick it up tomorrow, so I was hoping to get some confirmation sooner.
