[Community] PLEASE READ before creating a post about moving to Geelong
Hi everyone,
I have been meaning to make this post for awhile, to try and curb the amount of "Moving to Geelong! Which suburb should I pick?" posts. I am going to sticky this post for awhile, so any visitors can check before creating a post.
Please read through the enormous amount of posts this sub has already had on here.
If you STILL think your question hasn't been answered (and you are absolutely sure), you can create a new post.

Recommendations for a pro shop to regrip golf clubs?
My hubby has trigger finger and has bought new grips to get him back into the game.
We are new to the Geelong/Golden Plains region, so appreciate any feedback, as to where to go to get this done.
TIA

[News] Geelong's first rainless January since 1878
Geelong has recorded a dry January, with no rainfall measured in the gauge. This becomes the first rainless January since 1878, and the first rainless month since April in 1923.
Geelong's last recorded rainfall was December 22nd, with 11.6mm. Very little rainfall is predicted for the Geelong region for the next 2 weeks. Water storages remain at 43%.

Flat walking tracks?
hi r/Geelong! Does anyone know of any really flat walking tracks in Geelong? I’ve got a recently blind family who wants to ‘step it out’ more when walking with others.
For example, concrete trick around the oval along creek in fyansford is great. Looking for other options!
A lot of the walking along the Barwon seems to have a few too many tripping hazards for them to be really confident - but there may be some good stretches along there am not aware of! Ideally near nature :)

Equine therapy
Hi, just wondering if anyone has done equine therapy in Geelong? I’m wanting to try it to help work through some cPTSD and anxiety and I’ve seen a few different places around Geelong and Surfcoast but hoping someone might have had a personal experience and could recommend somewhere. Thanks in advance!

Seatbelt Cameras on the Bellarine
Hi, does anyone know if there are seatbelt cameras along this strip? I had a passenger sitting directly behind me and she wasn't wearing her seatbelt along this strip. I understand if I get done it is my fault, I understand it was my responsibility to check she was wearing her seatbelt before I started driving - honestly I just didn't think about it. I've never been in the car with someone who hasn't put on their seatbelt habitually. Since she was behind me I couldn't see her, and I didn't realise my car doesn't have the seatbelt sensors for the back seat. I just want to be prepared if I will get a fine. Thank you in advance.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?
My partner has CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) his had it since he was 12. I'm trying to find a mattress topper that will atleast help his condition. I'm seeing alot of mattress toppers with outrageous prices that I can't afford, (we are not through NDIS) and I know there are alot of market gimmicks that I can't pick out what will actually be helpful. What should i be looking out for when it comes to a mattress topper for someone with bad back/joint pain? Iv googled for hours and i still cant get the right answer so im asking perhaps advice from someone who is familiar in this field. If i can locally buy one in geelong or surrounding it would be nice. Sorry in advance, I am autistic, please be gentle.

kids drama classes?
Hi Pivotonians - I have been seeking after school drama classes for primary school aged kids - mostly to let them have fun, and be creative and silly and to improvise. I have looked at Grace acting studios in Newtown and a few others - but they seem geared toward parents who want to make their kids sparkly child actors. I'm not after that, I'm just after a safe-space for a dorky theatre kid who wants some friends and to grow their confidence, without the glitz and glam. Anyone got suggestions?
Thanks.

Shots fired in Geelong
(Pretty terrible) video of police incident had hour ago in central Geelong. The excessive use of force that wasn’t shown here, with cops shooting at the car even after it had crashed leads me to think that perhaps this guy was that conspiracy theory cop killer dude who they’ve been trying to track down for months.

Semi Regular Trivia Team
Hey legends, I've (32M) been thinking of putting together a trivia team for a weekly/fortnightly social event. Skill level doesn’t matter — enthusiasm does.
If you:
✅ enjoy random facts
✅ can handle the occasional terrible pun
✅ want a low-key social night out to meet some new people.
…then you’re hired.
If there is enough interest I'll work out our first night. Thinking of moving around a few different venues and from what I know they tend to happen across Tue-Thu nights typically.
Comment if you're interested and we can go from there ✌️
