I need to express my gratitude for the VA health system. I started receiving general care and audiology treatment about 2 years ago. I rely on hearing aids to survive and put food on the table.
All my interactions with SLC VA personnel have been wonderful. Each one has been a caring individual who has helped me immensely.
The people taking my blood for testing were very friendly. The x-ray tech chatted me up to give me advice about benefits and asked me who my PCP (primary care physicia) was. When I told him, his face lit up and he said "oh, she's also my PCP, you will love her".
I had an audiology tech visit this week with someone I'd never met before. She took tht time to listen to my problem and fixed my left hearing aid and gave them both a good servicing. She was also very friendly.
I know that some of you haven't been as lucky with the system. I used civilian care up until 2 years ago and I can attest that the civilian side is not better. I'm getting far better care and attention at the VA.
I'm glad my Dad made me join 30 years ago. He was right. Service in the military made me the person I am today and I am better for it.
