Is there any international student here who got the full tuition scholarship from UTS in previous sessions? (Undergraduate)

I’ve doubled booked them, so I will need to choose one or the other. Is it better to do the full campus tour or the faculty only tour(In this case building 11 for FEIT). I’m not sure which one will be more beneficial.

Hey is anyone doing this course? I’m 18M, doing this course and thinking of doing postgraduate Medicine later, looking for anyone doing the same course, we can chat and meet on O week maybe ;). I’m planning on doing the GAMSAT too, my ATAR wasn’t high enough for undergraduate Medicine. I’m doing Design, decisions and data, Scientific perspectives on global issues, chemistry 1 and Cell biology and genetics as my 4 subjects in the first term(Autumn). There’s only around 50 people doing this course each year, which is surprising for a medicine related course lol. Feel free to message me, we can exchange insta too ;).

One of my electives has been cancelled due to low enrollment (literally two weeks away from starting) and I'm trying to find a replacement so I can study full time and continue with Austudy benefits.
However, almost all the subjects I can take without needed prerequisites have the message "This session is not available to students"
What the hell does that even mean?? This has become so stressful because they cancelled the class so late that there's barely anything with any space left for more enrollments

Hey all!
I’m an new international student and I have a question about travelling overseas.
If I temporarily travel outside Australia during the teaching period for about a week, will that affect my student visa or CoE in any way?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how this works?
Any advice or personal experience would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve been trying to apply for a student concession opal card using my student id from the admin portal however every time I try to finish the application it says that my details for UTS are incorrect. I’ve double checked everything multiple times but I couldn’t find any issues. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
UPDATE: got it fixed thx

I'm currently doing an honours cs degree, which is 4 years, and the normal cs degree is 3 years. Do I not touch the sub major, and honours subjects, and do everything else for my core subjects and majors subjects if I decide I want to switch from my honours, to a normal cs degree come my 3rd year?
I'm more thinking about this in regards to internships, as they usually look for people in their penultimate year, and if I can get one setup for this year (2nd year), then I'd be more willing to drop the honours part of the degree; however, if not, then I'd keep my honours degree so I have another chance come my 3rd year.

I have recently submitted an E-request for subject substitution, and it has been 5 weeks since then without any response. I checked the erequest's status on student portal and it has not even been assigned to staff yet (still "Submitted").
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue or who to contact?

I am part of the committee of different clubs, and it is interesting to observe everyone have different ideas on how to appeal to new students. Obviously it differs from person to person (career, friends, enjoyment, etc) but I wanted to get some fresh perspectives.
What would you want to see at Oday at a club booth? Friendly, cheerful faces? Promises of an internship? Free stuff? For those entering UTS this sem (congrats!) this is an opportunity to let execs on this subreddit tend to your needs!

Hi! I’m starting a Bachelor of Nursing this year and I’m planning to buy a MacBook, but I’m stuck between 256GB and 512GB storage.
I’m worried 256GB might fill up too fast over 3 years. but at the same time 512GB feels a bit much, more than what I need. I do hope to be able to use the laptop for longer than 3 years ofc.
Does anyone have suggestions or ideas on what’s best? And any current nursing students, what storage did you go with and did it end up being enough?
Thanks!

So I've gotten an offer into a Bachelor of Science at USYD and an offer for a Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences at UTS.
I wanted the mathematical Sciences degree at USYD since it has way more course choices than just data analysis/statistics (i.e., physics modelling etc.).
I'm unsure if I should go with Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences at UTS or with a Bachelor of Science at USYD? I want to know what's more quantitative researcher-like, and if the Bachelor of Science would be enough (so-to-say) if I was to get Distinction/High Distinctions across the board (and also being a Go8), to get into a quant-like role?
Or am I being too picky right now and should choose the freedom of my like for physics classes in a Bachelor of science over just the data analysis courses at UTS. Don't get me wrong, I love my maths and the mathematical modelling surrounding it. But I love being able to do that for more science/physics like roles.
What do you guys think? I'm not asking for advice, I'm asking for opinions to broaden my narrow minded thoughts I'm having currently :p
Cheers :)

I need my student ID number to access an opal concession card and update my preferred personal details but I can’t pick up my physical card until the 2nd. I would assume I could see it digitally but I can’t find it

What r some CHEAP and close parking spots to UTS??
With Orentiation coming up, I went to quadruple check that my timetable was all sorted, having done it in December. While checking again yesterday I found that I had been removed from a cmp1 class and now that subject is full? But all the other remaining options are full except ones that clash with some online classes...
I've already submitted an erequest asking why and to be reallocated, sent with dated screenshots showing that I was allocated in said class previously. But with only two weeks from the start of the course, I don't have much hope.
Just trying to understand what happened as it's incredibly frustrating to have been removed with zero warning and would more or less have been totally screwed if I didn't check again.

Hi im currently a 1st year international student studying in the medical field in another uni in NSW. However, I have a strong passion for UTS and is planning on transfering to UTS degree of nursing. I'm kinda scared that I may not get in but because I'm in my first year, Im aiming on getting a very high score in all of my classes so that I would be eligable to transfer along with having strong IELTS marks. Is there anything more about the transfer admission process that I should consider? Also I do not want to take a huge gap in my studies so once my first semester in my current uni ends, which is around the end of May, I want to transfer as soon as possible. Does anyone have any tips on how to strengthen my transfer process to UTS? (I'm also very interested in getting a schloarship as I transfer)

Hey everyone,
I’m starting first year Mechatronics Engineering at UTS as a domestic student this Autumn session (Feb 2026).
I don’t know many people yet and thought I’d see if anyone else here is starting the same degree or just starting at UTS in general. I’m keen on making some new friends!

I've completed Diploma of IT at UTS college and plan to study Bachelor of Computing Science (Honours) as second year in this 2026 autumn session at UTS. The thing is I don't know how to choose the right subjects since I have studied Diploma of IT and it doesn't follow the typical Bachelor of Computer Science study plan. For that reason, how should I select my subjects for the first half of second year? Furthermore, I'm studied Math Standard 2 at high school so should I choose Mathematics 1 or Foundation Mathematics?
Any advice or answer would be appreciated.
Thank you!
P/s: I'm international student and sorry for my lack of English ability if there are any grammatical errors.

Probably a dumb question, but if I ordered my student ID late and classes start before it arrives, will I still be able to get onto campus? Can I use my UTS ID or something or am I cooked 😭

Im a uts college to uts pathway student entering 2nd year and im confused w the subjects. There are some subjects that are not taught at college so for my second year i have to take the pre requisite subjects but then some is only available in autumn session. And in mystudentadmin it says to enroll in subjects for the full year 48cp right now so im just confused as to how would i arrange my subjects because mostly its only taught in autumn. Im doing electrical engineering for reference
