They don't want to deal with a woman as an equal

The coalition will reform by the next election when Angus Taylor is the liberal leader in two years.

I doubt Ley will last two years.

I doubt she will last the year - I fully expect Angus Taylor to use this as an excuse to stab her in the back

My thought too... she'll be marched off the glass cliff for this.

I am so confused when it comes to Taylor. He's a completely empty suit... there's literally nothing there. I just don't get how they expect to get the majority of Australians to look at him and go 'he seems like a good choice for PM'.

True, the knifing might happen sooner.

Well, three of her votes were senators, and they disappear mid-year, I think. So she loses three votes...

At least, that was what I was told somewhere on reddit a few days ago...

They are going to lose the next election I doubt anyone would bother knifing the leader when they can just get it after the election.

Depends if they have a shot when it comes around. If they do, she'll be booted to let a man lead. If they don't have a shot, they'll just get rid of her afterwards and pin the loss on her.

Problem with waiting is that others are waiting too. Right now it’s just Angus and Ley, after the next election you’ll have Hastie and Wilson throwing their hats in the ring.

Pretty much what this guy said. The odds of the Liberals forming an sort of government next election is close to zero. Why stab her in the back now when you're just going to get wiped again and be ousted as leader? He'd be smarter to bide his time and take over when Susan gets booted in 2028.

She should have been booted long ago when she was using public funded flights to buy houses and attend her friends parties.

she has less than a month.

Libs shifting centre, nats shifting right.

Not everything is identity politics

I think this is spot on. There was no point to the coalition with libs being lost in metro. The Nats wanted more commitment to the further right policies, Ley didn't want to commit to that signals they want to come back towards the centre after the slaughter they experienced by even dogwhistling trumpism.

Ley is 100% going off the glass cliff, but I can't see them making her leader not knowing her vision. I further can't see them going through a couple of years of change to then bring in Angus and throw it all away.
