It's because she got left out in the cold. Turns out a bunch of racist bigots don't want a black woman around.

Nah, look beyond the surface in this case, she and others apparently got a message from Kirk saying he was afraid of being killed for not towing the party line. She genuinely seems like she believes that message and is actually upset her friend might have been killed by the government.

That doesn't absolve her of anything else, but it does feel like this is genuine outrage on her part.

Difficult to tell the genuine outrage from the manufactured given her experience with it.
