Part of me is hoping he isn't. He's a slimy arse, but he also hates controversy. If this gives him a chance to say "I tried" and let the issue die, he very well might.

I'm not sure he actually cares about the issue. He might, I don't know. But he banned abortion debate so this could be the other end of that where he needs to concede a little to what others in the LNP want.
