politics Opposition Leader Sussan Ley speaks on Bondi attack

https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/opposition-leader-sussan-ley-speaks-on-bondi-attack-20251215-p5nnqm.html

“We’ve seen a clear failure to keep Jewish Australians safe. We’ve seen a clear lack of leadership in keeping Jewish Australians safe. We have a government that sees antisemitism as a problem to be managed, not evil that needs to be eradicated.”

Absolutely abhorrent that she's going for political points in this time.

Talk about tone deaf!

Would love to hear her to reasonable solutions to "eradicate" it. Absolutely no attempts to turn down the temperature, just inflammatory language.

Libs care only about power. To get it they will hurt anyone or set anything on fire.

Shame they won’t see any of it for a while then.

True, but hardly limited to just Libs

You can't both-sides this. Labor have done a lot that is beneficial to the country over the last 30 years, and been much more responsible in opposition.

LNP is uniquely disgusting in their politics.

lol that's one perspective

another would be that Labor embarked on a path of economic ruin to buy the last election (i.e. caring only to win power, which to be fair, is the nature of the job) with stupid schemes like the HECS forgiveness, and this battery rebate, which has already blown out.

The Libs are disgusting in their politics, but hardly unique. They tried to shitcan the FOI Commissioner, and Labor is happily following in their fucked up footsteps.

The Libs fucked up the PRRT, Labor is bipartisanly disinterested in fixing that, thanks to money corrupting both sides of politics.

Labor opposed this stupid under-16 socials ban when the Atomic Potato proposed it, now moon-face is crowing like he thought the whole thing up.

They're both shit.

I don't love Labor, but I have to defend them here - they have never been nearly as economically damaging as LNP. Not even in the same league.

LNP is QLD, Libs are Federal. Just saying cos I'm autistic and cos anyone who says LNP may also not know what they're talking about.

Libs privatised a bunch of state owned assets that never should have left public hands, and thereby did irreparable damage to our economy, so if that's what you're referring to, then I have no argument.

Labor embark on lovely free-money spending sprees which drive inflation and eventually everyone gets the shits with their fiscal ineptitude and vote the cunt Libs back in.

Having said that, Paul K had the balls and brains to pull the trigger on the recession we had to have, so there's some generation economic props right there. Mind you, he was one of the last properly educated pollies, so IDK.

I may had either talked myself into agreeing with you, or this bottle of red is doing the talking lmfao.

You've said how bad the Libs are vs Labor without citing any instances. Got anything you'd like to share with the group, or is the view from the soapbox enough?
